Spied in Brazil is the 2019 Ford KA, will arrive in 2018. In addition to the tweaked looks the compact will get an Automatic variant.




In the engine front, Ford KA will continue with the current 1.0 and 1.5 engines. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine delivers 85 hp when fueled with ethanol and torque of 10.7kgfm and 80 hp with gasoline and torque of 10.2kgfm.
The 1.5-liter engine has power of 111 hp and torque of 15 mkgf with ethanol and 107 hp and torque of 14.8 kgfm with gasoline.

The Ford KA 2019 will optionally feature a six-speed automatic transmission for the 1.5-liter versions and also the five-speed manual. The 1.0-liter engine will keep the five-speed manual transmission.

Test mules of the Ford Ka facelift have been spotted South America. The Ka is sold as the Figo in India and it is likely that it will receive the same updates as the South American car.



The Ford Figo and Aspire compact sedan have been on sale for 2 years now and are due for a mid-life facelift. The updated Figo is likely to get cosmetic changes that could include a restyled grille, headlamps, tail lamps, new alloy wheels and reworked bumpers. On the inside, it is possible that Ford might add some features to the car. The infotainment system could be upgraded with a touchscreen device.



Ford will debut its Dragon series engine in the upcoming EcoSport facelift. The updated Figo along with the Aspire compact sedan are likely to receive a new engine as well. This unit could be a revised version of the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder unit from the Dragon series.



According to media reports, the all-aluminium Dragon series engine is believed to be 10 percent lighter compared to a 4-cylinder Sigma series engine, which is used to power the Figo at present. Some of the features that the engine is expected to have are an integrated exhaust manifold, hydrodynamic bearings for the rocker shaft, variable oil pump, dual-valve independent valve control, ignition coils for each cylinder and centralized spark plugs along with hydraulic tappets with rotor arms.

With the news of FORD KA face-lift how can the FORD KA+ Sedan be left behind? But how come the testing is done in Colorado?

That sedan can easily fit into the Ciaz/Verna/City/Vento/Rapid segment, replacing the Fiesta (which Ford doesn't seem to want to resurrect anyway).

Ford already has the Engines (1.5TDCi & potentially the 1.5 Dragon Petrol?), and know how to put together a brilliant car (Fiesta & Ecosport).

It's mind-boggling how inept these guys are, given the possibilities they're sitting on.

However, the big news is that the Figo and Aspire facelifts will get the all-new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol motor, essentially a derivative of the new Dragon series of petrol engines which will soon make its debut on the upcoming EcoSport facelift.

The Dragon range is expected to come with technology like an integrated exhaust manifold, a rocker shaft with hydrodynamic bearings, a variable oil pump and a dual-valve independent valve control. It is also believed to feature individual ignition coils for each cylinder, spark plugs centralised in the combustion chamber and hydraulic tappets with rotor arms. This full-aluminium engine is believed to be over 10 percent lighter than the current four-cylinder Sigma motor

Ford Ka 2018 will get exterior updates and automatic gearbox, will launch in second half of 2018 in the hatch and sedan models.

The most significant change will be made to the bumpers. The front will surround grille, lower opening and positioning of auxiliary headlights. Still on the front, the headlamps gain new contours, becoming sharper, and new internal reflectors - inspired by the headlights of the Fusion sedan.

At the rear, the changes should focus on the design of the bumper itself and the flashlights.tail lamps

Is there any change expected in interiors as well(like a touch screen )?

I am contemplating Figo purchase for early 2018.

I hope the interiors get a major update ,since the current Figo exterior doesn't really need a change as it still looks fresh ,save for the alloy and headlight design. Better alloys and projector/DRL are needed.
The old Figo felt and is more spacious hence Ford needs to do something with the new one. And while they are at it, improve that 1.2 petrol. The market is shifting back to petrol and Ford is loosing big time.

The main innovation of the new Ka will be the change of engine, with the end of the 1.5 Sigma 110 hp and 14.9 kgfm current (which accounts for a very small portion of sales, mainly in the hatch). In India, they already talk about the adoption of a new three-cylinder 1.2-liter Dragon, which is supposed to generate 120 hp

Visually, the Ka will receive a new grid, with internal hive design, instead of the current horizontal fillets. The headlights will also undergo changes. The rear seems not to have changed, except for the lenses of the lanterns.

From the inside, the Ka will adopt lines similar to those of the EcoSport, mainly in the instrument panel. The multimedia center will be upgraded to Sync3 on the more expensive versions, while the input model will follow Sync1.

Rumors are saying that the Taubaté (SP) factory is being prepared to produce the new 1.5-liter Dragon of 137 hp and 16.2 kgfm - currently made in India - to be used in the Ka and Ka Sedan, in addition to the already launched EcoSport . Thus, the Ka is also ready to work with the 6-speed automatic transmission

1.2 Dragon petrol will probably be tuned to a sub-100 HP output, given the 1.5 makes 120-odd horses in the Ecosport.

Hopefully 15-inch alloys with 185/195 section rubber become standard. Current setup is woefully inadequate, esp. with the TDCi motor.

As per various articles on net Ford is testing the Figo cross and Figo facelift in India. Along with the the exterior updates it is being speculated that interiors will feature a sync 3 touchscreen like ecosport and other features like parking sensors and camera will also be added. If this is true then Ford will be back in the compact sedan and hatchback segment. Hope all these speculations of new petrol mill and updated interiors turn out to be true.

The debut will be in the second half of 2018. In addition to the visual reform, both the hatch and the sedan will have automatic gearbox and new 1.5L engine .

Already with gasoline the power is of 80 cv and torque of 10,2 kgfm. The 1.0 engine will continue to work only with the five-speed manual gearbox

The engine has power of 130 hp at 6,500 rpm and 15,6 kgfm of torque at 4,500 rpm when fueled with gasoline. The 1.5 engine can work in conjunction with a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission.
