With the VAG group's new found thrust on EV's, Skoda plans an electric hatchback, coupe SUV and sports car.

The Czech manufacturer will launch its electrified vehicle strategy with a Superb plug-in hybrid and an electric version of its Citigo in 2019. But it will really push ahead with its dedicated EV plans a year later, with the production version of its Vision E concept, which was revealed at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show. It’ll be one of the first cars to appear on the VW Group’s new MEB chassis architecture, which has been designed to accommodate all-electric powertrains.

Skoda is gearing up for a double electric onslaught by the start of the next decade, launching a pure-electric hatchback and a coupe-SUV that’s likely to become the most expensive vehicle in the brand’s 122-year history.

The coupe-SUV will sit between the Karoq and Kodiaq in length, but the clever packaging allowed by MEB should mean that its interior space is at least a match for the latter of those models.





New Skoda EV hatch could get Felicia E name.

This car – which could potentially bring back a famous old Skoda name by carrying the badge Felicia E – will, in effect, be the firm’s version of the I.D. hatchback, complete with that car’s rear-mounted 168bhp electric motor.

The ‘Felicia E’ is likely to be about the same size as the Rapid Spaceback, so it will be smaller than an Octavia. But the packaging advantages offered by MEB mean that its cabin space could come close to that of the roomy Superb.

VW has stated that this I.D. hatch will cost roughly the same as a well specced diesel Golf – around £26,000 – and Skoda is likely to undercut that figure slightly, giving the Felicia E a starting price of around £24,000.

Updated Skoda Vision E Concept Makes E shown at the IAA 2017.

New wheels, slightly reshaped LED light bar at the front, and taillights with a bit more expressive graphics highlight the visual improvements. Oh, and the Vision E badge on the driver’s door has been removed are some of the highlights of the newly shown concept.

The vehicle is Skoda’s first-ever completely electric project, but is one of many EVs to come from the marque in the near future. The Czech manufacturer plans to launch no less than five electric cars by 2025 based on Volkswagen’s dedicated platform for such vehicles, with the first one of the series arriving in 2020.

Powered by two electric motors, the Vision E is capable of reaching a top speed of 112 miles per hour (180 kilometers per hour) and to travel up to 310 miles (500 kilometers) on a single charge. Maximum power is 306 horsepower (225 kilowatts), according to Skoda.

The zero-emission vehicle is not only the brand’s first EV concept, but is also its first car to feature Level 3 autonomy. This means it can completely take over steering on motorways, for example, autonomously completing all actions including overtaking, acceleration, and braking. However, in dangerous situations, the driver will be asked to take over the steering wheel again within a defined time frame.

The ŠKODA VISION iV combines an athletic body, 22-inch aerodynamically optimised wheels and powerfully flared mudguards with a pronounced coupé-like, flowing roofline. A characteristic tornado line connecting the front and rear emphasises the clean surfaces of the doors without handles. Cameras, whose housings are visually reminiscent of shark fins, take the place of traditional exterior mirrors.

The front characterises a reinterpretation of ŠKODA’s typically wide covered grille, featuring fine vertical ribs and crystalline structures. The horizontal light strip in the upper part of the grille and strikingly large air intakes in the front apron emphasise the sporty appearance. The powerful rear features aerodynamic spoiler edges and crystalline LED tail lights. They redefine the typical ŠKODA C-shape and emphasise the width of the vehicle in combination with a light strip above the rear diffuser. Another eye-catching element at the rear is the ŠKODA logo; the individual letters are lit up in red.

ŠKODA shows a glimpse of the VISION iV’s INTERIOR.

The all-electric ŠKODA VISION iV concept model offers a completely new interior design. The dashboard and the steering wheel are among the features that are sure to surprise.

The dashboard comprises two sections, each a different height, above which the loosely positioned central display almost seems to float. The instrument panel protrudes from the dashboard, while the steering wheel features the ŠKODA name in letters rather than the carmaker’s traditional logo.

Because the car is based on the Group’s MEB modular platform for electric vehicles, it has been able to incorporate some surprising solutions. There is no traditional tunnel console, so the designers have been free to come up with a newly arranged interior.

The VISION iV features storage space between the driver and front passenger, where a mobile phone can be set down and connected wirelessly to the car’s infotainment systems and controls. Phones can also be inductively charged here.

The VISION iV is a vision of a fully electric four-door crossover-coupé, the brand’s first car built on a modular platform for electric vehicles (MEB). Its broadness, athletic body and 22-inch aerodynamically optimised wheels

The main features at the back are the aerodynamic lip spoiler and the crystalline LED tail lights stylised to form a C-shape. The sporty appearance is underscored by the imposing diffuser with a light strip stretching across the entire width. The overall impression is rounded off by the ŠKODA name in letters backlit in red.

The interior is very spacious and airy without compromising ŠKODA’s signature practicality and user-friendliness. The dashboard, split into two layers, is dominated by a free-standing infotainment system display that appears to be hovering in mid-air. The steering wheel has also been redesigned. In the VISION iV study it has two spokes and features the ŠKODA name in letters.

With no tunnel console to get in the way, a new layout for the dashboard and centre console has been possible. The dashboard is visually split into two layers. The upper layer is dominated by a large infotainment system display that appears to be hovering in mid-air. The surface of this layer has been given a specific softened finish reminiscent of a crystalline structure and is set to be used in all future ŠKODA models. The lower part of the dashboard is graced with matte birch-white décor that replaces the classic vents and creates a sensation of natural airflow.

-The steering wheel has also been redesigned. In the VISION iV study it has two spokes and the traditional logo here has been replaced by the ŠKODA name in letters.

- Besides the controls, there is space for two phones, which can be charged wirelessly and – via Wi-Fi – connected to the infotainment system.

-The VISION iV continues the trend of vegan materials and environmental friendliness spearheaded by the VISION RS study. The look of the dashboard and door panels has been rounded off with Ultrasuede®, an artificial substitute for suede leather produced from a premium plant-based microfibre that is very environmentally friendly to make.

Skoda unveils its all-electric Skoda Citigo e iV with 165-mile range.

The Skoda Citigo e iV launches the Czech brand’s offensive into the electrified car market, being joined by the firm’s new plug-in hybrid Superb iV.

The Skoda Citigo e iV - the Czech brand's first-ever production electric car - has made its public debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Production is due to begin this Autumn, before going on sale in Britain early in 2020.

Prices have not been announced, but Skoda has hinted that the Citigo e iV will go on sale for "under €20,000" in Europe and before government incentives.

While the sole electric motor driving the front wheels is unchanged from the Volkswagen e-up! and still develops 81bhp, the battery pack swells in size compared to that car. Skoda claims a capacity of 36.8kWh, and with that much cell on board the brand says that the newcomer has been homologated with 165 miles of range under WLTP rules.

The Citigo e iV does not feature rapid charging technology. The battery takes one hour to recharge to 80 per cent using a CCS cable connected to a 40kW fast charger. Through a 7.2kWh wall box an 80 per cent recharge takes just over four hours.

Skoda has confirmed two trim levels for its all-electric Citigo variant. The Citigo e iV Ambition is kitted out with 14-inch steel wheels, while a more design led model called Citigo e iV Style gets 16-inch wheels with black accents, a silver dashboard and instrument panel, and CCS charging as standard.

Skoda prepares its electric saloon by 2025.



The Czech firm has big plans ahead for a very interesting future that will explode in the middle of the decade, starting in 2025.

One of them we advanced exclusively just a few weeks ago, an electric compact that will arrive as an alternative to the Volkswagen ID.3 and CUPRA Born by 2024.

A model that will be positioned between the Octavia and the Superb,with dimensions somewhat larger than the first and that will therefore bring to the second,since the saloons of segment D are easier to sell than those of the compact, practically disappeared. A very stylized roof line that will fall more forcefully creating a sportier silhouette, will be the main hallmark seen from the side, where it will also maintain the shape of the glazed surface, with the peak of the rear fixed glass. Front and back, it will inherit the typical features of the models of the firm, with finer optical groups, both front and back. Skoda previews 6 upcoming EVs, New Elroq replaces Karoq In 2024.

ICE isn’t going away.
Despite launching six new and updated EVs, Skoda isn’t going electric-only. Quite the opposite as ICE models will remain a mainstay of their lineup.
Will see ICE engines in the new Superb and Kodiaq, which will be launched this fall. They’ll be offered with the brand’s “most advanced petrol and diesel engines” as well as a plug-in hybrid powertrain.





Skoda is doubling down on electrification as the company has previewed six electric vehicles that will arrive by the end of 2026.

A “complete range of all-electric models” dubbed Small, Compact, Combi, and Space. They’ll be joined by facelifted versions of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe.

It’s being billed as an electric successor to the Karoq and will measure around 177.1 inches (4.5 meters) long. It promises to be an “ideal family car” with a “spacious, very practical interior.”

Entry-Level EV coming in 2025 at a price of €25,000 Sticker

The Small will arrive in 2025 and be a sub-compact car with “SUV style.” The model will measure approximately 4.1 meters (161.4 inches) long and start around €25,000. It sounds like Skoda’s version of the Volkswagen ID.2all and the model will be built in Spain.

The sixth and final EV is known as the Space, and it will be a seven-seat crossover that draws inspiration from last year’s Vision 7S concept. It will be Skoda’s largest EV at approximately 192.9 inches (4.9 meters) long and it will offer “enormous interior space.” The model will also feature the “pinnacle of the new Modern Solid design language.”

Skoda said their new Modern Solid design language reinterprets traditional hallmarks and boldly breaks new ground. That’s a bit vague, but the automaker is promising a “minimalist and functional” exterior design that “conveys a sense of safety and strength.” Aerodynamics will also play a key role as they help to improve range and efficiency.

The interior of the future promises to be spacious and contemporary. We can also expect “superb functionality and intuitive controls.”
