That one looks good, both with the top up and down. But those wheels aren't doing it any favors.

Its high time Ferrari ditch these boring wheels in that classic hyper silver shade.

Also, they really should pay the person who digitally adds these backgrounds for every new launches more.

Very Italian name, but rather un-sexy.

Sounds more like an upmarket Italian restaurant than anything else.

I don't know why they've been doing this lately... The cars look sharp and modern, but the wheels look like they are fresh off a 348.

Not this time Wonder why the person didn't use the very quaint little town that the car is named after, as the background? It is visually one of the most stunning places to live on in earth. Portofino until now has been synonymous with a relaxed, laid-back, cinematic and uber-sensuous holiday location. Spettacolare!!

BTW, for those who cannot afford a trip to Portofino just yet due to lack of time/resources.. they can simply head on down to a place off Pune called, wait for it.. Lavasa! The whole town has been modeled exactly after Portofino.

Good looking car, also. One of the few Ferraris I do like.

Re: Ferrari unveils the Portofino (California replacement)

Ferrari should consider ditching that ridiculous grin for a grille and style it to look raw and aggressive. I was under the impression that they've moved away from that design element, with the launch of the 812 Super Fast and the GTC-4 Lusso. Clearly, they haven't.

And whilst it's obvious that the Portofino (and the Cali / Cali T) were more GT-cruisers than outright super-sports cars, it's high time Ferrari introduces a proper classic front/mid engined two-seater RWD roadster that pays homage to the likes of the erstwhile 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Those rear seats are pretty useless anyway!

On the bright side, the Portofino looks like a Cali T that has been on a diet and exercise regime (Lord knows I need it too.. ) and looks way more taut and muscular than the outgoing car.

Re: Ferrari unveils the Portofino (California replacement)

Ferrari Portofino India launch on September 28.
Quote:
Ferrari believes the Portofino is an important model for India and will bring first time buyers under its fold. In a recent interview to Autocar India, Dieter Knechtel, CEO, (Far East and Middle-east), said, "The California was one of the most successful models in Ferrari history. Perhaps India is bit more of a sportscar-minded market. Portofino offers even higher value and versatility than the California, so it could be an interesting car for India," he said.

The Portofino will be sold via Ferrari’s two dealerships in the country, Select Cars in Delhi and Navnit Motors in Mumbai.
Quote:
Powering the folding hard-top convertible is a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8. It’s the same unit as the California T but has been completely reworked to put out an additional 40 horses, bringing the total output to 600hp@ 7,500 rpm. Torque is up marginally by 5Nm to 760Nm@ 5,250rpm. The Portofino's top speed is claimed to be more than 320kph.
