Re: Next-gen Renault Duster unveiled

I think they'll skip this generation in India and will bring the 3rd Gen now. They should just launch this and Captur in my view.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster unveiled

New Duster launched online - Excerpts from press release

"After seven years of success and more than one million vehicles sold, Renault Duster renews itself. The Group today revealed New Renault Duster in an online launch in the first countries where it will go on sale: Ukraine, and then, Egypt and the GCCs. The Dacia version, aimed at 44 countries mainly in Europe and around the Mediterranean Sea, was presented in Frankfurt in September.

Like its Dacia alter ego and compared to the model it has replaced, New Renault Duster benefits from a totally revamped design, a modern, comfortable cabin, brand-new features and a 4X4 driving experience on a par with the best.

In terms of design, New Renault Duster has even more robust styling than its predecessor, due in particular to a more horizontal bonnet with flowing lines, a higher beltline, more steeply raked windscreen its prominent shoulders.
Various distinctive elements point to its Renault brand identity. At the front, for example, the broad chrome-finish grille, inspired by Alaskan, stretches out to the headlamps, which are pushed to the edges of the front face to accentuate perceived width. The lower beading, which also has a chrome finish, underscores the shape of the grille and its central diamond logo. In addition, the C-shaped lighting signature incorporates LED daytime running lights, like all the most recent models in the Renault range.

New Renault Duster’s cabin puts the emphasis on comfort. The completely updated interior is highly exclusive and even more practical for everyday use. The sense of spaciousness is enhanced by the steeper windscreen, and the insulation of the cabin cuts the level of disturbing noise by half. The steering wheel can be adjusted for height and reach, and the MediaNav multimedia system is placed higher, making it easier to see and read.

New Renault Duster’s latest features* are aimed at ensuring tranquil driving, thanks especially to automatic air conditioning, a hands-free card, a blind spot warning system, and remote engine starting*.

Finally, it has an optimised four-wheel drive capabilities, with new functions such as Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist* – functions that are particularly suited to the countries where the model is to be launched.

New Renault Duster is available with the following engines*:

Petrol:
SCe115 (4X2 and 4X4), driving through a manual CVT gearbox
2.0 16v 145 (4X4), with automatic transmission
Diesel:
dCi 85/90 (4X2), with a manual gearbox
dCi 110 (4X2 et 4X4), with a manual gearbox and EDC"

2018 Renault Duster Unveiled

Renault has revealed the new-generation Duster and while we've seen the car at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show recently, we've seen it with the Dacia badge. The French car maker has finally revealed it with its own badge and we also get a glimpse of the cabin in this one.

Yes, we know that this is not the first time we're telling you about the new-gen duster, but if you would remember, the car that was showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Now, the one that was shown had the Dacia badge, but Renault has finally come out with the one wearing the company's badge. The model is the company's best-seller globally with over 1 million units sold. With the new generation, the automaker has taken an evolutionary approach with its highly successful French SUV and certainly takes things a notch higher.

The 2018 Renault Duster grows on the existing model and can be seen as a highly reworked version in terms of styling. While it still distinctively looks like a Duster, the design is a lot more upmarket now and keeps the butch appearance intact. The grille is now wider and the headlights have been pushed to the either corner to make the SUV look wider. A new signature LED daytime running lights divided into three sections highlight the headlamp cluster. The bonnet has been reworked for a flatter surface and gets a U-shaped masculine line for a more assertive look. A silver skid plate has been added to the front and rear bumper now, which looks like a bull bar and is finished in scratch resistant coating to take some beating.

The new Duster's beltline has been moved higher while the windscreen is raked forward by 100 mm over the outgoing model in a bid to make the cabin look more spacious. There are new aluminium finished roof bars as well along with the new 17-inch alloy wheels that sport a rather interesting design. At the rear, we particularly dig the new X-shaped tail light cluster that seems to have taken inspiration from the Jeep Renegade. It's still a compact unit, something the current Duster owners weren't too pleased about, but the new setup certainly looks better.

Inside, the Duster gets a slightly different look and as you can see from the pictures, it features rectangular air conditioning vents and that's a move from the rounds ones that are currently onthe car. the steering wheel too is different and a bit similar to what we've seen on the Captur. There's a bit of chrome on the dashboard and it also looks like the touchscreen infotainment system has undergone an update.

The Renault Duster pretty much kick-started the compact SUV segment in India when it arrived in 2012 and is currently the automaker's second most-selling offering in the country. so, yes, it will come to India and given the trend in India, we might see it make its way here sooner and we cannot rule out a glimpse at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo followed by the launch soon after.

Thank god the dashboard in Renault is much better than the Dacia version. every time i look at Dacia interior, i remember the interior of Chevy Enjoy. However imo the front styling on Dacia is better than Renault.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster unveiled

It certainly gives the feeling to have grown subtly bigger than the outgoing model. But the alloys is certainly not to my liking. Duster looks brilliant with aftermarket alloys. Renault has to learn to bring out some tasty looking designs rather than thick 5 spoke alloys which look outdated. Diamond cut design didn't impress either. However, the interiors looks conventional now

As for the exterior design, it's looking good with the revised fascia. But the headlights should have projector or LED setup to remain current with the competition.

I am probably in the minority who feels that Captur looks better that this version of Duster. Hope the actual vehicle doesn't look this bad.

Is this a 7-seater now? The side profile seems a wee bit longer. Interiors do look better than the current version.

There were speculations about the new one going to be a 7 seater, not sure if that's the case.
But it makes sense launching the duster as a 7 seater because of Renault’s positioning of the recently launched Captur crossover, which sits just above current Duster in Renault’s India line-up.
It doesn't make sense having two 5 seaters priced similarly.

The first video of facelifted Dacia Duster was posted 2 months back, they claim to have increased the space at front side by 4 inches in the facelifted vehicle.

A simple review of the facelifted Dacia Duster,

Alas. It still seems that it does not have much space to keep liter bottles either between the front seats or in the door pockets!

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster unveiled

Why can't we have grab type door handles?
Renault using flap type door handles is worse that Maruti using the same switches for power windows for ~10 years now.

New 2018 Duster 145bhp?

https://www.carwale.com/news/indiabo..._content=title

Does anyone know if this is really India bound? The specs show a 2.0 petrol liter engine with 145 bhp on tap?

Unless the Captur does terrible sales, i don't see Renault rushing the 2018 Duster anytime to India. And even if they do I really doubt if a petrol engine such a high displacement would be ever offered. The current Duster in India may not have even 10% of sale from petrol ( and that must be also due to the CVT box ).

My assumption is that Renault india will wait and watch for 2018. They have invested some money on the Kaptur, although based on the current Duster. So new Duster, not until 2019.
