Re: Next-gen Renault Duster unveiled

While this thread is lurking around from almost mid 2017, there is absolutely no clarity on when is this new Duster launching in India. This is frustrating
With most new launch have timeline around, hope Renault understand and atleast come-up with something for people to plan.

Regards

Frustrating to say the least. I was talking to the sales guy in the Sarjapur showroom today, and he said they would be informed at least 6 months in advance if a new model is to be launched. So, no new duster as of now it seems.

I am particular about 6 airbags and duster does not have it. Creta is overpriced for this variant and is out of my budget (15L on road max). Any suggestions? I'm particular about my car being an suv/high driving position.

Or should I take the used car route (would be taking a loan user or new):

Ford Ecosport - 6 airbags.
Mahindra XUV 3OO - 7 airbags.

Two options that you have, if you want the high seating position. Else - Toyota Yaris is also an option.

Forgot to mention it above - I'm looking for an automatic, as wifey prefers it. The ecosport does not seem to be as spacious for the passengers.

I'm in a similar situation. Probably the only difference is I also prefer a petrol engine powered car. I'm currently inclined towards Yaris. Ecosport has too stiff a suspension for me.

XUV 300 is not expected to come with an auto transmission to begin with, is my understanding right?

I'm in the same boat, waiting for the KIA Sportage, which is to be launched later this year. The advertising has started, so the car cant be too far behind.

Also waiting for the Harrier, saw it at the airport recently and it looks great in the flesh, although the TATA brand gives me shivers, based on my past experience. Tata Fan boys - please don't get mad and flame me.

Waiting for a TD of both these SUV's to finalize my new ride.

Today I went to Mahindra World City in Chengalpattu, near Chennai. I spotted two camouflaged versions of what it seemed to be the new Duster.

The top end Ford Freestyle fits all your needs. Top notch safety equipment, high driving position, good engines and more importantly very easily fits into your budget.

Dacia Duster With New TCe 100 Engine Starts At Under £11,000 In Britain.

Quote:
Dacia has launched a new entry-level version of the Duster in the United Kingdom. Available from £10,995 ($13,261/€11,881) in the Access grade, with a front-wheel drive configuration only, it is powered by a new turbocharged engine.
Quote:
The new 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder kicks out 100 PS (99 hp / 73 kW) at 5,000 rpm and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque at 2,000 rpm, with the latter representing a sizeable 66 percent improvement compared to the SCe 115. It’s paired to a five-speed manual transmission and returns between 48.7 and 49.5 mpg UK (5.8-5.7 l/100 km / 40.5-41.2 mpg US) in the WLTP test cycle, with carbon dioxide emissions of 126 g/km. 0-62 mph (100 km/h) takes 12.5 seconds and top speed is a not-that-impressive 104 mph (167 km/h).
