EU antitrust officials carried out a raid this week at the offices of a German carmaker, the European Commission said on Friday. The EU, in its statement, said that the inspection related to the Commission concerns that several German car manufacturers may have violated EU antitrust rules that prohibit cartels and restrictive business practices. Renault, Nissan, PSA, FCA, JLR face European antitrust probe.

The probe centers around whether the companies colluded to raise prices by as much as 25 percent on car parts, with the help of consulting firm Accenture.

This would be the second large-scale investigation by the commission into European automakers. The regulator opened a probe in September into whether Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW colluded on clean-emissions technology for cars.
