Re: Bob Lutz on the endgame of human-driven cars I do have this fear that the day is not too far away when it will be computers and not human beings who will be behind the wheels. But at the same time I think it's still too early to imagine this thing happening on a day to day basis. Think about it this way. Autopilot mode in aircrafts was invented way back in 1914 (I googled it) but still there is a pilot in every single flight we take sans some military grade drones.
Ultimately as many scientists including Stephen Hawking have suggested that artificial intelligence will take over mankind ( http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-30290540), driverless cars are probably inevitable but still I hope that I won't lose no sleep on that just yet. |
