Jaguar recreates classic 1980s XJ6 and adds hi-tech gadgets for Iron Maiden drummer

Legendary Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain commissioned the one-off XJ6 from Jag's classic team.
The "Greatest Hits" Jaguar XJ6 took 3,500 man hours with over 4,000 parts refinished, replaced or redesigned.

Always feels so nice to see an old beauty restored to its showroom self. Even as we're entering the world of EVs & autonomous driving, I'm glad enthusiasts like these exist to keep alive icons of the automotive industry.

That's over 300,000 pounds in labour alone, unless Jaguar gave him a discount. You got to really love a car to spend so much money + effort on it. On my Jeep, I've spent multiple times of its book value to keep her running tight.

Love the lines of the legendary XJ6. And a good touch by Jaguar to revive this car with the right amount of parts / touches and not going overboard. The other revived vehicle I love are the recreated versions of the
- Jensen Interceptor
- Jay Leno's Bentley 27 litre
- Eagle Speedster (recreation of the Jaguar E Type)

Read the title and clicked on it and as the page loaded hoped NOT to come across any words such as- EV or Hybrid.

Thankfully there were none as my eyes kept drooling on that semi boxy design and those never ending sharp lines. Added to that the vintage navy blue color adorns that British beauty!
Glad to know there still are enthusiasts out there believe in reviving classics rather than buying any of the modern hybrid/electric tin cans of today

lovely rebuild.........buttt
not digging the almost donk rims and the auto box on a british classic.
300K pounds is cheap, when a singer porche restoration STARTS at $400K

Love 'em wheels!

Oh wait..is that an XJ220 , the iconic Jag supercar in the background?!Beautiful flowing lines on that one and looks smashing, I'd have one of that as well.

It is a lot of money considering less than 10% would get you a XJ in excellent condition. The Earlier XJs are still one of the more affordable Classic Jaguars around. 10-15K will get you a very nice, well sorted one. That is less than we paid for my wife's second hand Fiesta.

Parts availability is very good and most jobs can be done by any enthusiastic DIY person.

Of course, the attention to detail a car gets from Jaguar on these sort of restoration is just phenomenal. No other restoration would come close. Im a bit surprised they catered for so many non original modification, which sort of defeats the purpose of having your own heritage/classic restoration line. Not sure if Mercedes Classic would do similar on say a Pagado restoration.

Personally I prefer old school restoration based on originality. With maybe the odd safety related items modernized, e.g. lights. But that is just a case of preference.

The wire wheels look great. Im not so sure how practical they are. PITA to clean, more importantly how well would they deal with all that power and cornering of such a hefty car? I guess for some that would just not be a worry. Either because they have the money to get if fixed or because they just really like the looks, hang the cost and the maintenance! If the rims go, sell the house sort of approach. I can appreciate either way.

Lets see at which exhibition this car is likely to turn up!

Nicko McBrain is a big time Jaguar enthusiast !

He sees his fully customized Jaguar XKR-S for the first time.
