Lexus Genetic Select - A car customized to your genes. EDIT: April Fool prank

Ever been confused on what options to get and end up getting the wrong options. No more....

re: Lexus Genetic Select - A car customized to your genes. EDIT: April Fool prank

Don't know if its an April fool prank or something genuine from Lexus but the way of starting the car by tongue looks yucky!

Edit - So it's real, take a test here - Lick your computer screen and check what's best option for you

re: Lexus Genetic Select - A car customized to your genes. EDIT: April Fool prank

This has got to be a joke.. HAS TO BE. Few reasons below :

1) A genetic test would take about a month at the earliest, not 48 hours, and certainly not 48 hours including customization of the car.

2) A steering wheel lick leading to verification of the passenger, and starting the car in about 2 seconds.. COME ON TOYOTA! Biometrics seem to be all the rage today but certainly not saliva based.

3) Lavender and cauliflower scent? LOL

4) Prescription windshield? The amount of curvature required to have a certain power would make it impossible, besides what would one do if one has to look at the left/right windows? Again, poor eyesight cannot be predicted by genetics, leave alone exact numbers.

5) Food choices are NOT genetic!! It comes from an influence of mom, dad and native food choices. No one is a nicotine/caffeine addict by genetics.

6) Oversized head? If that isn't trolling then I don't know what is.

Never been a fan of Toyota but love the way they're testing viewer intelligence with this amount of cheekiness. If at all this is true, I'd only laugh more.

Nope, it is a prank.

Quote:
Sure, the driver licking the top of the steering wheel at the end of the video -- so that her DNA would start the Lexus -- was a final giveaway that Lexus's new "Genetic Select" service with 23andme is just an April Fool's joke.

And one so good, it'll be featured during SNL.
