Audi has unveiled the fifth-generation A4 facelift. The sedan does not get any mechanical changes and is expected to reach the Indian shores in 2019.

At the front, the facelift A4 gets a new grille and a new bumper with pentagonal air inlets. The air inlets have U-shaped inserts on either sides. The rear comes with a new diffuser and new trapezoidal exhaust pipes. The sedan gets a choice of 16 to 19-inch alloy wheels. The lower crease on the rear passenger doors come with the Audi symbol finished in black or silver.



Audi is offering an S line equipment package that comes with features like Audi Sport 19-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, sport suspension, LED headlights and a new Turbo Blue paint finish. On the inside, the package offers a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel and partial leather sports seats.

In India, the current Audi A4 is offered with a 1.4-litre petrol engine or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol produces 148 BHP and 250 Nm of torque, while the diesel produces 188 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The same engine and transmission options are expected to continue on the facelift model in India.

LOL. Audi faces a unique problem. 98% of people won't be able to tell the new generation A4 from the old. And 99% won't be able to tell this facelift from the current car.

I'm not complaining though. Am a big fan of Audi's clean & timeless styling. With the right rims, I think the A4 is among the best-looking sedans on sale.

I don't get why car makers are playing it so safe these days. While I do get a facelift needs to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary but the norm these days is that the new gen itself is an evolution of the previous gen rather than being a bit for radical. Looks like most germans are going the Porsche way of design.

A friend bought the new A4 (not the one pictured in this topic obviously) and Audi chennai were giving out some amazing discounts. Probably due to poor sales? He even got the bigger rims and other frills for absolutely free.

I hear Audi chennai are giving amazing discounts on the S5 as well. Someone I know bought it for just 78 Lakhs OTR. I repeatedly asked him 2-3 times to re-confirm and it seems its true.

Yes, it's true. Audi dealers are giving heavy discounts on their cars. They are no longer the best sellers in the luxury segment. People are no longer amazed as they used to be. Nowadays all cars come with fancy DRL headlights, etc. Plus Audis were really very boring to drive. It was just the looks that attracted people.
Plus the marketing was really good back then. Especially with Iron Man and Transporter movies. 50 shades isn't exactly as cool. :P

I think Merc was better with the H/L's being completely new (atleast in the LED versions) and the new tail light for the Sedan. The kombi/stationwagon/T-modell looks the same though!! This facelift is ridiculous.

Porsche atleast has some unique timeless design, which even after so many generations of repetition looks fresh.

2020 Audi A4 Range unveiled, has a Diesel S4, order books for the new 2020 A4 later this month in Europe .

All 2020 A4 models come equipped with LED headlights but customers can opt for the range-topping ones with Matrix LED technology with fully automatic high beam. Other exterior modifications made to the new A4 models are re-shaped taillights and a different rear bumper design. Buyers will be able to opt between 12 different colors for the car

When sales commence of the new A4 in Europe, it will be offered in a number of forms, including the A4 35 TFSI with 147 hp. Other models include the A4 45 TDI with 227 hp, the 2.0 TDI with 187 hp, 2.0 TFSI pumping out 241 hp, and 3.0 TDI with 227 hp

New to the S4 family are the TDI models. Thanks to the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 diesel, they pump out 342 hp but out-punch the petrol with a hefty 516 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The S4 TDI incorporates an electric powered compressor found within the 48-volt main electrical system to eliminate turbo lag

Looks really good, better than the pre-facelift version. Might I say, it looks a little more substantial now, and different enough from the previous A4s. Any changes to the interior?


Most Audis look smashing in the S-line trim. Wonder why the trim isn’t offered in India.

More than a facelift, it seems to be a marketing gimmick by Audi. They have to launch a facelift to sustain stiff competition from BMW introducing an all-new 3 Series and even Jaguar's new XE.

Clever Matrix lights have been there for a while, interiors are almost the same as before. For me, it only seems to be a marketing gimmick with no new Audi features that one would expect though.

The only differentiating thing I see here is the Diesel Hybrid. But how much actually hybrid is this hybrid system, that's not clear from the post above?

2021 Audi A4 And A5 Get Extra Power And Standard AWD. Audi has just unveiled its updated 2021 model year lineup for the United States.

The A4 and A5 duo gets a power boost of 13 horsepower (10 kilowatts) and a 12-volt mild-hybrid electric system for its four-cylinder engines. Also new for the 2021 model year is the standard Quattro all-wheel drive for the A4 40 TFSI, while the A5 family gains a similar A5 Sportback 40 TFSI Quattro-powered model.
