Hello again,
I had recently made a post on my 3 month Europe trip which recently concluded. As you can imagine, the travelogue was vast which included 25,000km of driving, visiting car museums, catching up with car local events, meeting car workshops and dealerships and so on... So I thought it would be best to segment the content according to each experience.
This is one of my last experiences in Europe, just before heading back home. I was in Germany for about 15 days and tried to catch up with as many interesting things that were happening there. In this time, I happened to visit the
Audi Driving Experience Centre that is just 20km on the outskirts of Ingolstadt, very close to Audi's Headquarters. This as far as I know, this is the last opened experience centre, which also happens to be the largest in the world. This place is in fact has also recently bene the new home of Audi Sport.
The property stretches over 47 hectare, off which 30,000 sq.mtrs is part of the experience area where they have a short circuit, an off-road area and a skid pad. On the day I was there, the team was preparing for an afternoon session of the Audi R8 driving experience of which they were happy to accommodate me as part. The rest is what I made this video for
... photos follow below the video.
Here are some photos my afternoon with the brand new Audi R8 V10+'s, for more there's always my

R8's in Dynamite Red flocking together
Mine was the Ara Blue
But the Vegas Yellow is the best of the lot
One of the panels that's seen the least change since the original V8 R8
The lineup for the day
Sill plate scuffed by the constant inflow of people at the Audi Experience centre
The quilted leather seats feel great, but the sport seats would have been better
Carbon fibre everywhere
The new car shifts almost all controls to the steering wheel, just like how its been on other supercars of late
The signature R8 fuel filler cap
The badge that makes all the difference
I think the most bland part on the R8 exterior
V10 meat under the sheet
I am not the biggest fan of the new edgier design of the later generation cars compared to the curved and rounded edges on the original car.
Another signature of the R8 since its inception, the silver air scoop
The headlights IMHO is what Audi does best!
From the front, the new R8 is quite subtle specially when put head-to-head against a supercar of similar caliber.
