I liked the new C..it follows a different school of design from the present Mercs & not made it as a baby S..

The Elegance look more luxurious & elegant than the 3-series & the A4..& the Avantgrade is more sportier too...

Interior is fantastic..the colour combi is super..but could have added a wood trim for the Elegance varient..

Over all its very much fresh looking..better than the predecessor

The car looks too much like the S class now. Wonder what S class owners in India will think when they see a "lowly" C class looking their mighty S.

The C-class has always been known as the baby S. Has always been a great looker and they have kept up the name this time around too.
Hopefully all the nightmares of the old C are washed away in this one, bringing back the reliablity this company was once known for. Lets wait and watch....
The new C is due to launch at the year end or latest by Jan 2008.

Isn't the C pillar too thin for a Merc? Moreover isn't this a departure from the usual practice that Merc identity is built into Merc Design, for example, if you take the grille(s) off would you be for sure able to identify this as a mercedes at first glance. Add a hoffmeister kink and this would become a bimmer. Gone are the days of the W123 W124 190E and even the last gen C class which was, although bland, distinctly an understated Merc design.

For the first time in a Mercedes saloon, the radiator grille is used as a distinguishing feature to position the model variants more clearly.
In the Elegance model, for example, a threedimensionally formed radiator grille reflects attributes such as solidity and comfort – but also a touch of luxury.

C classic elegance grille

C avantgarde grille

On the other side, the Avantgarde line has a visually striking radiator grille with a large, centrally positioned Mercedes star supported by three horizontally extended, high-gloss trim sections embellished with chrome: the typical design features of sporty Mercedes models.

new C class

Hey,
old is gold but the new is platinum...lol..I love the new C class. The lights look fabulous and they grill looks modern and with the new design on the fog lights, they look funky.....I prefer the new to the old. I feel the new Mercedes is very sporty and for the younger generation.
