Ferrari has revealed the replacement for the 488 GTB before its scheduled debut at the 2019 Geneva motor show, the F8 Tributo. The two-seater supercar is powered by the same award-winning twin-turbo V8 motor found in its predecessor, but tuned to produce 50hp more. The Ferrari F8 Tributo also features a number of changes outside and inside, when compared to the 488 GTB.

Due to the uprated 3.9-litre V8 engine, which now makes 720hp and 770Nm of peak torque (an increase of 10Nm over the 488 GTB), the F8 Tributo is the fastest mid-engined Ferrari yet.

In addition to the increase in output, these performance figures are obtained thanks to a weight reduction of 40kg and a 15 percent increase in downforce, along with a claimed 10 percent improvement in aerodynamic efficiency and the latest version of Ferrari’s Side Slip Angle Control (SSAC).

Finally, a Ferrari that looks like a Ferrari and not a spaceship. That was the first thought running through my head when I saw the pics in the press release. The Tributo pays tribute to a lot of older Ferraris through its design lines.

Other than this car, I'm not a fan of Ferrari's current styling at all (812, GTC4Lusso, Portofino...are all ugly to my conservative mind). I'm more inclined toward Lamborghinis right now.

The F8 Tributo finally gives Ferrari a proper competitor to the McLaren 720S, along with the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Aston Martin Vanquish.
