Porsche Cayenne Coupe unveiled

Porsche has unveiled the new Cayenne Coupe. Based on the third generation Cayenne, the Coupe has a more sloping roofline compared to the standard car.

The front end of the Cayenne Coupe is identical to the standard model. It features a set of sweptback LED headlights and a front bumper with three rectangular air vents. The A-pillars are shorter as the roof edge has been lowered by 20 mm. It has redesigned rear doors and fenders that extend the shoulder by 18 mm. The roofline gently slopes towards the rear and features a roof spoiler. Additionally, the Coupe comes with a second spoiler – an active spoiler similar to the standard car, which extends by 135 mm at speeds of 90 km/h. The slim tail lights with the light bar in the centre are similar to the ones on the standard Cayenne.

The Cayenne Coupe comes with a fixed glass panoramic roof. However, a contoured carbon roof is available as an option with one of three lightweight sports packages. The Sport Design package comes with new lightweight 22-inch GT Design wheels, checked fabric upholstery and carbon and Alcantara interior trim. A sports exhaust system comes standard with this package on the Cayenne Turbo Coupe.

The interior of the Cayenne Coupe is similar to the standard SUV. It has a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, while the rear seat has been lowered by 30 mm to liberate some headroom. Features such as Speed sensitive Power Steering Plus, 20-inch alloy wheels Park Assist, reversing camera, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Sport Chrono Package are offered as standard.

The Cayenne Coupe is available with two petrol engine options - a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 335 BHP and 450 Nm of torque and a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 unit that puts out 542 BHP and 770 Nm of peak torque. The latter is offered on the Cayenne Turbo Coupe.

Re: Porsche Cayenne Coupe unveiled

Porsche simply blew the GLC, GLE, X4, X6 coupes out of the game as far as the design is concerned. Best looking among those 'SUV coupe' contraption things! Could be my soft corner for Porsche talking but they pulled off that hunchback and spoiler pretty nicely.
I think this is going bring in loads of money for Porsche similar to the Macan.

X4

X6

Will have to wait till the reviews to see if it drives better than the X6M. I think it will while also being the most expensive car in segment, typical Porsche fashion

Re: Porsche Cayenne Coupe unveiled

I seriously don't understand the mindset of kind of people buy these SUV Coupe's. Personally I think most of them look horrible.
They remind of the "Shrek" for some reason or rather HULK with a hump on his back.
The worst offenders are the ones from Mercedes (the GLC &GLE Coupe's ) and BMW X6 who I think started this horrible body style with the original X6. They are not capable of doing any thing properly neither offroading nor handling nor the practicality of normal SUV's. The only thing these vehicles does scream "I'm rich".
The only company that has pulled of the SUV coupe design well is Audi with their new Q8 and this Porche cayan coupe to some extent.
As a person who values good design, this trend is absolutely annoying and stand right up there with our own sub 4-metre sedan trend in the list of trends that should die as soon as possible.

At least BMW SUV coupes are based on the same platform as the regular SUV's Eg. X4 based on X3 and X6 on X5 if Im not mistaken so wouldnt they be as good or as bad as what they are based on?

This looks way better than any of the other so called "coupe's". The BMW X6 for example is ghastly!

Re: Porsche Cayenne Coupe unveiled

Looks are subjective and, therefore, not a debate-worthy subject from my point of view. One can question the rationale behind this body style, but it makes a rather compelling commercial case for manufacturers, which is why we’ve seen a surge in the number of options in this segment. These cars definitely offer lower practicality than the ones they’re based on, but there’s no drop in performance/ability, as they’re identical mechanically. It is clearly for people who love sports cars’ looks, want SUVs’ capability, can live with slightly compromised practicality, and afford the unreasonable premium.

Re: Porsche Cayenne Coupe unveiled

Porsche to unveil a more powerful 631 BHP Cayenne Coupe soon

Porsche is said to be working on introducing a more powerful variant of its Cayenne Coupe. This new variant is expected to come with a host of mechanical and cosmetic updates, with its unveil scheduled sometime in June 2021.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe unveiled-newporschecayennecoupe1.jpg

According to a media report, the new variant of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe will come powered by an upgraded 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produces 631 BHP and 850 Nm; a massive increase of 89 BHP and 80 Nm over the current model. Porsche will also offer the new variant with an updated 8-speed automatic transmission and an AWD drive system to handle the additional performance.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe unveiled-newporschecayennecoupe3.jpg

The new powerful variant will be offered exclusively on the Cayenne Coupe model. This is attributed to the fact that the Coupe has a slightly lower centre-of-gravity and a lower kerb weight, compared to the standard Cayenne.

Porsche will also offer the upcoming variant of the Cayenne Coupe with a lightweight active carbon fibre aero pack. The new trim will also feature certain design tweaks in the form of bigger air ducts, revised roof-mounted spoiler and a new diffuser with dual exhausts positioned at its centre.

The new range-topping variant of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe will also get a new name, which will be announced at the time of unveiling. It will be sold alongside the standard trims and will take on the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley Bentayga V8.
