Next-gen Porsche 911 GT3 to get 503 BHP 4.0L flat six engine

According to a media report, the next generation Porsche 911 GT3 will use a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat six engine from the limited edition 991 Speedster. It is also reported that future Porsche GT models could get naturally aspirated engines.

Prototypes of the upcoming 911 GT3 have been spotted on the Nurburgring track. The exhaust note reveals a high-revving engine without turbocharging. It is said that the engine comes equipped with two petrol particulate filters. The exhaust system uses thinner steel and nickel and also incorporates soldering techniques to shed 10 kg. The engine, in the 911 Speedster, develops 503 BHP @ 8,400 rpm and the next GT3 is also expected to have the same specifications.

The engine gets individual throttle bodies for each of the cylinders and the fuel injection system is reported to operate at 250 bar rather than the 200 bar of the current car.

The lovely banter in the last two videos is really wonderful to watch. Chris of course causing more interruptions compared to Henry.

Loved both the videos but enjoyed Chris's.

Henry was being a nice, obedient kid, allowing the Master to talk everything technical while absorbing the information laid out. Chris was just being that naughty kid who is distracted by all the flashy colored toys and bullying the teacher.

On a completely different note, that fact that GT3 exists today with a NA format and an MT still made available to purists is because of the brave decision that Porsche took a couple decades back and the one that every other manufacturer is now trying to replicate - the Cayenne.

Eyebrows were raised and doom was predicted for Porsche for the utter blasphemy that they were going to create, that of building an SUV. What happened next is there for everyone to see today. The GT3 and the other 911s have only their bigger and less sportier cousin to thank for their existence.
