New Ford Fiesta 2008

Ford Brazil has introduced a revamped Fiesta which the company claims has a more sophasticated and elegant appearence over the outgoing version.

On the inside, the car has a new instrument panel and better sound proofing.

Errr.. can someone tell me how is the instrument panel any different from the one we see on the Indian Fiesta? It looks the same to me.

More pictures of 2008 Ford Fiesta.

Whoooa.... noce mods. Have certainly changed the character of the car from sophisticated to lithe, muscular and sporty.

Dont those new wheel arches make the wheels look real tiny? The Indian version of the Fiesta seems more proportioned that ways !!
IMHO, they wudnt bring this to India as yet, not when they are the secind best in that segment (figures some one had out on this site).

Hmm, its looks contemporary but feels less expensive . The current one with a better Grille Job would be better .

The current Fiesta lacks appeal at the rear and the front is anyways smart.

This new Fiesta's front looks like Fusion ... need to look at its backside though.

nah..... the current fiesta looks are a lot more appealing than the new one. this looks more like mondeo's younger bro. mondeo looks good due to its size but shrinking it to fiesta's size won't really look good.

looks a bit like the euro fucos. i like it. toned down wheel arches will looks much better though IMO.

by the way, does brazil have any new pedestrian safety regulations? the fron of the car seems higher to me.

This model was supposed be a competitor to the likes of Corolla/Civic/Sentra here in the US. I guess Ford did not get the execution right (product & marketing).
It seems Ford is more into marketing its Focus pitted against the likes of Camry/Accord/Altima, a more tougher battle to win
Just like Maruti, Ford will really have a tough time to position & sell products in direct competition to the likes of Civic/Corolla or Camry/Accord
It seems the same battle lost in North AMerica, could be very well the case in India

The Headlamps and wheel arches look like they were borrowed from the previous generation Focus, well almost. I prefer the Indian Fiesta. But, maybe those wheelarches would spice up the otherwise slab-sided looks of our desi Fiesta.

Since we're talking international, and Fiesta here.. just realized that the Ikon is sold as Fiesta in China. In Mexico its called the Fiesta Ikon, and in India there exists Ikon as well as Fiesta !!

Looks like its only the Indian version of the Ikon which landed the sporty SXI bumpers on all models.

ugh !!! what have they done to a subtle understated design ??? the current fiesta is much better imo. the non-flashy, elegant look is what its all about for me. still its better than what honda did to the OHC in terms of the NHC's design. the OHC and Fiesta to me are very similar in terms of the styling character.

does anyone feel the headlights on that new fiesta is very much like that of the Swift ??? that alone is a put off.
