The latest news from South Korea, Hyundai Motor Group's new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) for all-electric cars is in its final stage of development.
The first Hyundai on a new BEV platform is rumored to be a compact crossover/SUV, that will be launched in early 2021.

Hyundai will unveil a pilot car in June next year, and the model is to be produced on Hyundai’s electric vehicle platform for the first time will enter mass production by early 2021 as planned.

Hyundai releases a single teaser to the New EV Concept "45" that debuts at Frankfurt Motor Show.

Hyundai 45 Concept Shown In Latest Teaser,
New Hyundai EV based on concept 45 is rumored to go on sale in less than a year in Europe.
Highlights (rumor only as of now):
- Dimensions will be 4.63m length, 1.89m width, 1.6m height. The wheelbase will be stunning 3m. In comparison, Santa fe which is 4.69m length has wheelbase of 2.7m.
- 2 battery sizes: 58 kWh and 73 kWh.
- 200 KW charging capacity and can charge 0 t0 80% in just 15mins. It has 800 volt charging system similar to Porsche Taycan.

From the photos and proportions, it looks to be about the size of a Golf or i40 from the Hyundai stable (is it just me or are there shades of the current Audi A1 in the haunches?). I think that's a very wise move if they want to showcase in Europe. Hatchbacks rule and even in a post COVID climate in Europe where the onus is more than ever for decongestion and cleaner transport in urban areas, an EV hatchback form factor or small crossover will be a smart move. I will admit this looks less like a cross over and more like a hatchback.
Also, I wonder if they've taken a leaf out of Honda's book (Honda e) in going with retrofuturism for the theme of the vehicle.
Suffice to say I'm extremely curious to see how this turns out in the flesh.
The production version of the 45EV would be called Ioniq 5, the family will be completed by a sedan from Prophecy- Ioniq 6 and a large SUV called Ioniq 7:
