Quote:
Hyundai Motor will display the company’s focus toward the future direction of car design at the forthcoming IAA Frankfurt Motor Show (Sept. 10-22, 2019). Inspired by looking back at the brand’s first model in the 1970s, the 『45』 fully-electric concept car will act as a symbolic milestone for Hyundai’s future EV design.

The new concept accentuates the forward-driven design direction while exploring the evolution of Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language. ‘Sensuous’ stands for enhanced emotional values that customers can experience through design, and ‘Sportiness’ is determined to implement those values through innovative mobility solutions.

Re: Hyundai's new BEV Platform for Electric Cars

From the photos and proportions, it looks to be about the size of a Golf or i40 from the Hyundai stable (is it just me or are there shades of the current Audi A1 in the haunches?). I think that's a very wise move if they want to showcase in Europe. Hatchbacks rule and even in a post COVID climate in Europe where the onus is more than ever for decongestion and cleaner transport in urban areas, an EV hatchback form factor or small crossover will be a smart move. I will admit this looks less like a cross over and more like a hatchback.
Also, I wonder if they've taken a leaf out of Honda's book (Honda e) in going with retrofuturism for the theme of the vehicle.
Suffice to say I'm extremely curious to see how this turns out in the flesh.

The production version of the 45EV would be called Ioniq 5, the family will be completed by a sedan from Prophecy- Ioniq 6 and a large SUV called Ioniq 7:
