I like the way the Station Wagon version looks. The D-pillar enhances the rear look in my opinion. But:

1) Is there any difference other than the extra boot space that those cars get when compared to regulars?
2) Do they actually sell those outside of Germany? I understand that Germany (and may be a bit of France) is the only market where Station Wagons sell well.

Eerily same as the G20 3 Series from front, back & even interiors. Prospective buyers won't be happy.

Looks much sharper though. Expect some excellent deals on the current 5 when this launches early next year.

They really need to tone down the front end & make it more conventional. The G30 looks great from all angles, except that weird front.

I completely second that thought! The side profile and the rear are almost identical and i doubt that anyone other than us enthusiasts would be able to tell the 2 apart, at first glance, if parked alongside.

Phew! Thankfully BMW spared the 5 of an oversized ridiculous grille. It was expected though as the 5 is its bread, butter and jam.

Nope. 3 Series is considered to be the bread and butter; considering it accounts for around 30% of the BMW brand's annual total sales

Yes I agree, in the right trim, tyre size and colour the Touring looks better.

The bigger boot is a big attraction for obvious reasons. Also the rear tailgate glass can be opened independently of the whole hatch. The touring traditionally came with self leveling rear air suspension as standard. It is good as it can improve ride quality and controls the ride height especially when towing. However rear air suspension on BMW ( F11) is notorious for premature failure.

Yes they do, I would imagine the majority of the sales come from western European countries. In the UK, if used market is anything to go by, it appears that Touring account for 1/4 th (approximate)of total 5 series sales.
