If you really think its the Germans who are the only ones behind huge grilles, please think again. It is a trend across the industry and the Japanese seem to be leading here! Each successive generation has a larger grill than the model it has replaced. Take a look at the few examples below -

Mazda's new 2019 Mazda 3 sedan has a grill that leaves little space for even the fog lamps


The Lexus signature grill has been beaten to death by meme creators by comparing it to the Predator's face, and still each model keeps getting closer to the alien.


Toyota definitely would have the Lexus influence, so Camry looks like this


Nissan has just unveiled its latest Altima, and yes you guessed it right - it gets a grill that is a full size larger than the previous Altima

New details emerge from feedback of people seeing the car:



- The headlights are similar in shape to Scale, but they differ in some ways. "The headlights are no longer split, but inside the diode strips are split to still act as a quadruple lens.

-There are two more, located almost perpendicular to the road. He compares the solution to the Mercedes E-class headlights.

- The rear turn signals were dynamic and noticed that they were not completely horizontal, but slightly sloping. The highest place is closer to the center of the luggage lid.

I feel that the front looks overdone and those depressions for Headlight washers do not seem to go well with the design.

These are not the final body panels but false camouflage ones on top of whatever is underneath. I am sure the final product will have seamless washer covers.

This is the interior of the Škoda Octavia IV- It will have a NEW steering wheel and a new dashboard.

- Pre-production units being built

- A brand new steering wheel with different controls, which will be two-spoke, inspired by the Vision X concept

- Digital instrument shield, which will probably be at an additional cost.

- A free-standing screen of the multimedia system will appear above the vents.

- Between them, however, will be placed conventional buttons to control selected functions of the car

- No separate air conditioning control and will be concentrated in the multimedia system

- The Optional Hybrid drive - PHEV

- Sale of Octavia IV will not start until 2020.

Next-gen Skoda Octavia could get a 2-spoke steering wheel

Spy images indicate that some variants of the next-generation Skoda Octavia could come with a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with a chrome trim.



The car could also get a engine start/stop button, a digital instrument cluster, and a touchscreen infotainment system. Spy shots also indicate that other variants of the Octavia could get a 3-spoke steering wheel as well as a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The air-conditioning vents are placed below the touchscreen infotainment system.

The Skoda Octavia notchback was spotted testing last month. The car could come with a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a DSG gearbox. The estate version of the car is expected to be unveiled by the end of the year, followed by the notchback.

We have new BMW grille which somehow try to look like a KIA, and now Skoda is also joining the party I guess.

No it's indeed not. Please don't compare this exercise with erstwhile Maruti 800 and Omni steering wheels (two spoke), instead this is indeed a fully loaded next gen steering wheel.

2020 Skoda Octavia (combi) Spied,

ditching the old-school handbrake lever, the new Octavia prototype had an electric parking brake showing Skoda’s intentions to push its most popular car upmarket. Eagle-eyed readers will notice there are some differences inside the cabin from one photo to another, and that’s because we’re dealing with two prototypes. The one with the electric parking brake had an automatic transmission, but was missing the piece of chrome trim around the central air vents and the driver’s display, while the steering wheel was borrowed from the current Octavia.
