The interiors and front end look alright. But the rear end resembles the Renault Laguna and thats not saying much for the Skoda flagship.

Looks really BMWish to me! The Superb lost the 'understated charm'. This looks good in a different way though!

Dont you think the back looks a bit like the VW Phaeton? Is this going to be the same size as a phaeton?

this is the effort to make the skoda appeal to younger achievers . the earlier superb only appealed to older audiences. this one with its sleek looks and lovely headlights will definitely appeal to a much younger audience.

Is this again a liftback like the Octy? 'Cos from the pictures, the rear doesn't seem to gel with the rest of the car. Looks a bit like a stretched Indigo to me.

I think it looks quite fantastic up front. The rear though, I think they jus didn't bother, and thats disappointing.

New Superb coming with PD engine!!

Just got word from Skoda that they are launching Superb first with PD engine and will bring the Common rail later. I was thinking of taking a look at this car instead of buying a 2nd hand merc but now not sure. From the way it was explained to me it seems they have both engines/cars already homologated but are bringing the PD first. Considering its performance is very similar to the outgoing V6 TDI I feel they must bring the common rail now. Perhaps some pressure from fellow BHpians to the company may help. I and a bunch of other potential buyers are thinking of writing to the MD. Any support from the group would help . Thx

The present superb looks nice although a little understated.I feel the new one has lost the elegance the old car had to a little extent. But I guess the company has to move forward and keep up with the current design trends.

cannonball: I have a diesel superb and feel the performance is quite adequate.Although i am not a very big fan of Skoda reliability. The new car IMO is going to have a smaller engine and less power although I feel bringing the CRDI makes sense I doubt skoda is going to do that.
