Recently I spotted a car, a Mitsubishi Eclipse to be precise.....no wait .... hang on ... second look and the badge read Plymouth Eagle....
I saw real closely. Every thing was the same ... i mean external appearance, in comparison to a Mitsubishi Eclipse which is 2 generations old. the one with the hump on the bonnet and flat tail lamps. Is there any relation between these companies?
I remembered this when V12 posted about the Daewoo Nubira and the Suzuki Forenza....

Highwayblaze,

You are absolutely correct, the Eagle you saw is nothing but a good 'ol mitsubishi eagle. Even the awesome Mitsubishi 3000GT is sold as a Dodge in the States. Toyota is also a member of this bandwagon, it used to sell its californian assembled Corolla as the Geo Prism.

There are still a lot of americans who are high on patriotism, and would welcome only american cars into their garages....so

Yep, the 3000GT was sold as the Dodge Stealth in the US. Chrysler's Plymouth Laser was technically identical the the Mitsubishi Galant.
Mitsubishi is a strategic partner of Daimler Chrysler. Wanna know who else is? It's our good old Hyundai Motor Company! Yep, the same fellows who manufactured Dippy's Santro. Some guys must be getting shotguns and pistols ready to shoot me.
