No reason - but this is an older platform and it's better safe than sorry when it comes to India specific modifications that companies might do. VW haven't done it yet but I wouldn't put it past them...

Fair enough. But if they dont give at least a 4* rated car when the home-grown companies are have 5* rated cars, it will show them in very very poor light.

Is it just me or does the quarter glass of Polo Sedan remind you of Ciaz?

Re: VW Polo sedan for the Russian market launching in 2020

I don’t think this is the Vento that will come to India.

IIRC, the Polo Sedan sold in Russia (including this new model), is underpinned by the same archaic PQ25 platform as the Polo and Vento currently on sale in India.

We are more than likely to get an updated version of the Virtus sedan sold in Brazil, which is built on the MQB A0 platform. Naturally, the one sold in India will be based on the MQB A0 IN version of the platform, for increased localisation and economies of scale across the VW/Škoda lineup. Engine options are likely to be the 1.0L TSI with ~100 BHP and 1.5L TSI Evo in a lower state of tune (~130 BHP?) with 5M/6M/6AT (TC)/7DSG as the gearbox options.

Somehow, I still prefer the current Vento over this in the looks department.
The interiors are much better though. It looks a lot more interesting and the virtual cockpit is one feature which I hope comes to India.

The side profile, the rear and the front grille/airdam are all looking different from the Euro spec Virtus. With the side profile like this, it seems closer to the new Skoda Rapid of the Euro spec.

The grille is more like that of the European Jetta of the present generation, it seems to me.
