The Rav4 hasn't reached here because the Fortuner exists, and being cheaper than the Fortuner internationally, won't have the fat profits the Fortuner brings.

No excuse for TKM to not bring the Corolla Cross here.
The Urban Cruiser and the rebadged next gen Vitara are both priced lower than the Corolla cross pricing range.

No excuse of dying segment like the Corolla, nor impractical like CHR, nor cost prohibitive like Rav4.

Toyota moves fast to launch the Corolla Cross in price sensitive markets as an alternate to the expensive C-HR.

Now spied in Malaysia and is speculated to launch by this year end.

we’re pretty sure that the SUV will only come as a petrol engine option in Malaysia.

The 1.8-litre engine is paired to an equally familiar Super CVT-i. Like most of its closest rivals, the Corolla Cross is front-wheel drive only.

When it arrives in Malaysia, the SUV will go up against B-segment SUVs like the Honda HR-V and Subaru XV.

Although I don't see Toyota launching it here in India but I think this was a perfect opportunity for them to compete against Compass, Tucson and the likes. From the pics it looks spacious at the back with decent boot space. The front grille is little quirky but the rest of the design is very European. Being a Toyota I think it had a great opportunity to become segment leader in 20-25L suv market who don't need a 7 seater Innova. But alas, Indian market is less important than that of Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand etc.

Following its debut in Thailand and Vietnam, the Toyota Corolla Cross has just been introduced in Indonesia, the third country in the region to receive Toyota’s latest SUV.

For the Indonesian market, the Toyota Corolla Cross is available with two powertrains: a 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that does 140 PS and 175 Nm and a 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid that does a combined system output of 122 PS.

Both engines are paired to a CVT-type automatic transmission (planetary gearset E-CVT for the hybrid) that sends power to the front wheels.

Equipment-wise, the Indonesian-market model largely mirrors its Thai counterpart, but loses out on the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS 2.0) ADAS suite.

Sold in 2 variants, namely the Toyota Corolla Cross non-hybrid for 457.8 million Rupiah and the Corolla Cross hybrid for 497.8 million Rupiah.

2022 Toyota Corolla Cross Revealed As Brand's New Small SUV in US.

The US-spec Corolla Cross uses a 2.0-liter engine that produces 169 horsepower (126 kilowatts) and 150 pound-feet (203 newton-meters), sent to either the front wheels or all four via a continuously variable transmission ripped from the Corolla S. The suspension is fully independent on the all-wheel-drive model, with a Dynamic Torque Control system that sends up to 50 percent of power to the rear wheels, while the front-drive version gets a new torsion beam setup in the rear.
