Looks awesome in that red shade. Many combinations and trims. This will surely work in India via CKD.

Available from Spring 2022, meaning another 4-5 months for the launch.Now, I understand, why Zac told there are no current plans of Karoq in India. Is there a chance for India launch sometime around Oct/Nov 2022 or am I being too optimistic?

I don't think Karoq (even as a CBU) will be launched in India as confirmed by Zac.
It will be a bad seller given the launch line-up of Tiguan and Kodiaq.

However, it looks promising and on paper, the Karoq is definitely a worthy contender for Compass, C5, Tuscon, Harrier (except for the powertrain for sure)

Does not make sense unless they launch it with 2 L engine. No one will pay 7-8 L more for 1.5 L engine. If they launch it with 2 L engine the Tiguan which is being launched will become a dud. So they wont launch this one in India. It will be Kushaq and Kodiaq for India and Taigun and Tiguan for India by Skoda and VW respectively. My heart goes with the guys who have bought Karooq and T-ROC. They will loose value on resale and also on spares it will be a big headache. While the brand will help you to get spares, there will be a waiting time and costs associated with these spares. I am sure even the revised T-Roc may not be launched.

There is an space vacant in the 25-30 lac rupee bracket wherein the Octavia sits. The Kushaq counterpart would be Slavia and the Superb counterpart would be Kodiaq (SUV body style vs Sedan in the same bracket). So it could be the missing piece. High spec’d compact suv of 4.5 metre. Too optimistic??

The Sportline variant looks sweet. Skoda needs to get this variant with 2.0L engine via CKD route to further enhance their product portfolio - this will be a worthy contender in >25 lakh SUV segment. I have always liked the Karoq - the interiors are just top class. Not sure who designed those 19" wheels - they just look plain ugly!

I always liked this. It's the right size and the real sequel to the yeti.

With the 2.0l tsi and awd it will be a banger.

The interiors are great and dynamics are good too.

We really need to get more variety in our market for top quality products.

This is one car I’ll regret not buying If it is relaunched in Style trim with the 1.5L or even Sportline 2.0 only, I’d buy it immediately.

At 32L on road in Bangalore it was a great buy, and has everything I want. I don’t know why Skoda is being so pessimistic. If they’re happy with the Superb numbers, I’m sure this will bring in similar numbers at a higher profit per car because of the high seating and ground clearance.

Škoda Karoq prices in Czech. starts at CZK 638,900 ( ~ INR 21.4 Lakhs) for the three-liter three-cylinder engine with an output of 81 kW.
The 1.5L Karoq starts at CZK 688,900 (~INR 23.1 Lakhs)

Next Gen Karoq will be in EV form, called the ELROQ. Coming in 2024.
