Unexpected Easter Eggs in cars (Jeep, Tata)

Apparently Jeep has been putting some really cool easter eggs in their vehicles since 2013. Do any of the 'Indian' cars have Easter Eggs? I remember Mahindra doing some cool stuff.

Here is a sample

They payed homage to automotive journalist Rick Péwé by putting a subtle pair of flipflops on the Gladiators cowl. Rick is best known for wearing flipflops on the trails.

Tata's recent cars also have similar easter eggs. For example, the Altroz has a peacock at two places: on the windshield and on the glovebox. Tigor, Nexon and even the HBX concept have easter eggs depicting various animals. IIRC, Tata said that this is a gesture towards endangered animals.

Recent Tata cars have been coming with Easter eggs.

The Harrier gets a lion on its projector headlamp:

The Nexon has a lioness and her cub on the rear windshield...

They had a lot of these in the Renegade. I remember it was so much fun searching for the eggs in their cars.

It's nice that car companies are becoming more human and not afraid to have a sense of humour. Even ze Germans. Was reading this the other day:

https://www.thedrive.com/news/28014/...that-mocks-bmw

However, in my mind, the greatest Easter Egg of all time was when the Sports Mode button in a Maruti 800 was labelled "AC off".

The upcoming Ram Rebel TRX comes with an Easter egg at the bottom of the center console. The automaker has taken a dig at its primary rival here. It seems to be a scale comparison between a human, the Rebel TRX truck, the Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaur, after which this truck is named, and a little dino in front of it which is the Raptor. Even the placement of the ‘creatures’ is clever and could be comprehended as the T-Rex attacking the Raptor.

I'm so looking forward to this rivalry. Can't wait for the new 2021 F-150 Raptor as well as the Ram TRX to be launched!

In 2021 Ram 1500 TRX there's a T. rex with a raptor in its mouth, taking a clear shot at the TRX's competition - the Ford F-150 Raptor.

Re: Unexpected Easter Eggs in cars (Jeep, Tata)

Why does this matter? Who’s ownership experience has ever been enhanced by the outline of a lizard or slippers or a tiger being etched on a plastic part?

Companies will be well advised to not waste time and money on such gimmicks and focus on their primary job of creating fundamentally sound and competitive automobiles. I’d much rather that Jeep corrects the pricing of Compass and the tuning of its ZF9 AT. Or that Tata offers the turbo petrol and DCT on Altroz ASAP rather than indulge in these juvenile distractions. Ford owners will also prefer Sync3 systems and backlit markings for the ATs instead of these silly designs here and there.

I understand the sentiment, but surely there is room for fun as well as functionality. Not sure the etching costs that much either. Even if it is a change in die, it is seldom a retro die mod and more that 1 set of dies are made with the change - costs are minimal.
