Honda said that this recall is related to a faulty component in the fuel pump. The defective part was supplied by Mitsuba Corp. and could cause the engine to stop and fail to restart.

Seems like these things can also happen in such a large scale at Honda which is known for their quality.

Surprising that this exact recall had taken place in India, shortly after the Accords launch. The first couple of batches had a problem where a fuel pump valve (??) would get misplaced when the car was driven over bad roads. This would completely stop fuel supply to the engine. Obviously and a lot of irate customers later...Honda India fixed the problem through silent recalls.

accords have a nasty gearbox issue and brake discs as well ask anyone that has one driven 10K up.

Thats a recall spanning 2 years. While better late than never, why now - especially for the older models ?
