| ![]() The BMW X3 is due for an update and new spy images suggest that SUV could receive a minor facelift in the near future. ![]() BMW could make a few changes to the X3's front fascia. It is likely to get a redesigned twin-kidney grille and new bumpers. Besides, the rear fascia could get subtle updates as well. The test car seen in these images appears to have the same headlights and tail lamp clusters as the current model. It is equipped with 5-spoke alloy wheels and has twin exhausts. ![]() The third generation X3 is based on the CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform. It was launched in India in April 2018. The SUV is available with two engine options. These include a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 248 BHP @ 5,200 rpm and 350 Nm @ 1,450-4,800 rpm as well as a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that makes 188 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. ![]() Meanwhile, a test mule of the X3 M was spotted in Mumbai earlier this year. The high performance version of the X3 is rumoured to be launched in H2-2020. ![]() The X3 M is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine that produces 473 BHP and 600 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system. Source Link to Team-BHP News |

| ![]() Don't know why, but the front profile shows a lot of resemblance to the previous-gen X5. From the rear, it looks more or less the same. |

| ![]() The grill looks very much like spectacles. I don't know how big the grill becomes over time. Apart from that, the design looks good. |

| ![]() I just HATE these subtle facelifts. The resale value of previous gen owners goes in for a toss while offering no incremental gains to the new owners and a potential price hike considering the past trend. Fog lamps have also been removed again. I don't find them to offer a lot of practicality but does add to the character on the front. |

IMO it all depends on when one sells the cars. Eg: If the car is sold when an all-new generation comes the facelift/pre-facelift variant doesn't matter. Also, nowadays manufacturers tend to remove equipment from cars, so I have seen people preferring the older variant. One of my friends recently bought an MY2018 XC60 vs 2019 model as it had heated seats, HUD, BLIS, etc. |

Infractions: 0/1 (5) | ![]() The car looks good but only with blacked out trim. The silver grill looks hideous IMO, like a old fashioned chashma. Hopefully the interiors too get a much needed refresh to keep it interesting. |
