If there is anything we should already know by now is that celebrities have tonnes of disposable income, quite literally too. So, it shouldn’t come as surprise when someone says Cristiano Ronaldo just bought the world’s most expensive car.

The Bugatti La Voiture Noire, in addition to being the most expensive car is probably also one of the most exclusive. With only 10 units being produced, the car costs around 8.5 million euros. This only adds to the footballer’s car collection which now stands at a staggering 30 million euros.

The car is powered by a 1,500 PS 8-litre 16-cylinder engine and can reach speeds of up to 380 km/h with a sprint from 0 to 60 km/h in just 2.4 seconds.

Ronaldo posted a picture of himself sitting in front of the car on his Instagram account with a caption that reads “You choose the view”. The car is also badged with CR7 in front of the rear wheel.

Apart from Bugatti that will be delivered to the football star by 2021, Ronaldo also owns cars like the Ferrari 599 GTO, Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren MP4 12C and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse.

That "news" article is garbage.

• Nobody (as of yet) has bought the La Voiture Noire.
• The car in the Instagram screenshot is a "regular" Chiron and not the La Voiture Noire as the article says.
• Bugatti isn't making 10 units. That's the Centodieci. Should the La Voiture Noire actually be produced, there will only be one.
• The so called price of the La Voiture Noire is all over the place in automotive reporting: from USD $12M to almost USD $20M. The part that really matters to Bugatti—"the most expensive new car in the world"—is a neat marketing exercise. For another example of such an exercise, Google "Zonda HP Barchetta".

Having never done business with the Lykan people, I have no knowledge of their cars. As for the rest, what makes them (relatively) budget priced is primarily the fact that many units are being made: the rarest amongst them would be about 50 units. Even with that non-exclusivity, these cars are actually quite a bit more expensive than one might be led to believe by the usually inaccurate numbers in automotive reporting.

Yep, the Bugatti La Voiture has been sold, but the owner of the car is still a mystery. Ronaldo has actually bought the Bugatti Centodeici which costs about £8-9 million. Stephan Winkelmann even said Bugatti will be making one-offs every two years.

According to someone in the comments section, this is the prototype used for the presentation and the real car is doing test drives in Germany.
