![]() 1st of all 1001 bhp is not that big, tuned supra's, vipers, muscle cars with big blocks, skylines make more than that easily but these "1 off" tuner car specials should not be compared to the Bugatti. Bugatti can be driven like a regular car and serviced like a regular production car with a proper warranty. Any tuner car can beat the Bugatti for half the price but can it make 1001 bhp in extreme weather, bad roads, etc etc without having to worry about the reliability. Any freaking highly strung tuner import can make crazy bhp but the engine is stressed.. will it last 200,000+ daily driven miles with warranty and peace of mind ?

BHPian ![]() | ![]() @chetanhanda: Just to add to that, how many of those highly strung tuner cars can actually put the power down on a wet day on broken asphalt or some other equally difficult scenario? I'd have to say none. One more big difference between normal mortal cars and a Veyron is the way it stops, IMO too much emphasis is placed on how a car accelerates and not nearly enough on how it stops. The Veyron is an engineering achievement par none, The goalposts for greatness have been shifted. |

Also I dont think 1 off drag special tuned cars can be legal daily drives also, Veyron easliy meets emisson standards etc with cats etc. It needs 4 turboes, 16 cylinders with lots of radiators to make 1000 bhp look easy. Hmmm ..we never think of stopping power, I was also not thinking of Veyron's superior braking.
