This time its not word's but action :

Quote:
The BBC's motoring programme Top Gear has been accused of causing damage to a pristine wilderness in Botswana.
Quote:
Conservationists have accused the show, hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, of leaving scars across the Makgadikgadi salt pans by driving vehicles across them.
They have said the tracks caused by the cars could remain for decades.

WE all know JC don't we ? the rover badged indica was critised too , JC is also known for his hatred of the 911 , which i don't agree . Unlike TG UK ed M. harvey who defends brit cars , JC is straight forward honest about the fact that astons aren't good cars. If JC dosen't crash pickups , talk witty , then TG will lose it's spice.

Top Gear in Trouble

The punky motoring show on BBC has faced a lot of FLAK. For their up-coming seris they apparently drove over some 'untouched wilderness'.

this has been taken very seriously and also Jeremys views on Global warming have not been very kind either.

cheers.

OT:
did a search in the wiki for this one and this is what i found:
"it has a maximum speed of 88 mph and can achieve about 55 miles per gallon. The car has a three-cylinder 989cc petrol DOHC four-valve engine (EJ-DE engine)with electronic fuel injection"
(link: Perodua Kelisa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )
i think those are damn good figures, also the car looks nice for being a hatch.

The variants start at £ 4999, and thats a VFM product. Like our M-800, only this one is much better than M-800.

Well, we all love JC, we all love and hate JC's opinions, but whenever there is JC we are simply curious. But we are all unanimous that the Indian Auto Journalism is just plane boring and too commercialised to be of any real value. Cant we have our own Team Bhp magazine?

thaT'S really so true!! whatever comments JC might pass during their show, atleast they manage to make it interesting!! the entire show is worth watching.. i've had friends who care least about cars, wait excitedly through the week for me to download the latest episode of TG!!!
Why are our indian shows so boring!! not the least bit of entertainment, you can't even figure out whether they're doin a show on cars or medical equipment!! whatever lil josh thats there, is just put on!!!
I'm guessing a great factor contributing to TG's succes is the photography!! guess it's not possible to match that economically here.. ofcourse matching JC's spontaneity is out of the question!!
lets just hope for TG lke shows to crop up here in years to come!

i love J C to death

i just really really love J C and Top Gear .. and it's his tongue in cheek brit' humour that i like the best .. his sarcasm is unbeatable and always has me in splits .. it's the most eagerly awaited show at home .. for the whole family .. this is the only TV program in my entire 34 years that my dad has actually woken me up for .. if i'm going out somewhere and i've forgotten he actually says .. " go later, top gear's coming on in a bit " .. what can i say .. we love him .. Go Jeremy Go !!!!

since you have dug up an old thread, I will have to recommend to everyone TG's special episode- the Polar Express in HD. It is one immaculately shot, over the top extravaganza and after watching this, there is no way one can derogate TG - this was something special - they took cars to the (magnetic) North Pole! JC and co. even happily drink away on their way since they are technically in no-man's land; actually they were technically driving on international waters.

Of course JC later got into a soup with BBC's board after the airing of that episode.

But please do you yourself a favour- grab hold of this and get 1 hour of some guaranteed high class gorgeous entertainment. Each time that Hilux breaks smashes through ice..oooh!..Ok. I gotta stop this rant.

Love him or loathe him...You just can't ignore this guy..

These witty things make his shows entertaining and humorous.Of course, some guys don't like Jezza because he's just straight-forward in everything..

If he loves the DBS he'd go mad over it..If he hates the 'emotional key' he would hate it forever..Every 911 is scary for him and resembles it to the Beetle.. ..And his silly obsession with Astons and Brit cars!

Sometimes I feel offended too when he insults Indians ( Nano and G-wiz) ..but then that is his personal view..

I just love him for what he is...JC is the best of the bests...

This guys a stuck up, pompous, self opinionated twit.
I agree one hundred percent. My family and I love our Accent crdi, and for Indian families, it did more than it could to serve us well. I saw the show where they said it was the first car ever, and I stopped watching the show after that.

Its his opinion, you have your opinion. Everyone is entitled for opinions. It's just that he has a Show that has had 15 seasons, his show has won emmy awards and has a viewer ship of more than 350 million worldwide. Also the current format of the show is the new format, before which the old shcool top gear was on from 1977 to 2001.

Having said all of that I think JC is damn intelligent, witty and is a great presenter. I love his shows. Infact his single releases are also fun. You have to take whatever he says with a pinch of salt.

cheers,
ac
