Disastrous design overall. Looks like a train bogie.

Atleast, they have to increase the bonnet length proportionately. Or, launch a new car and disassociate with the good-looking Defender.

While I dont really like it in-terms of looks, the Defender 130 looks like more of a successor the Land Rover Defender Station Wagon rather than being a typical three-row SUV.

Well you know Defender heritage

Oh my goodness , they've made a bus

Was a 7/8 seater defender really needed? its supposed to be an offroad baised landrover and the rear overhang is bad news for the departure angles. for proper 7/8 seats won't the road based rangerover series be better?

Reminds me of Suburban XL. I see one peculiar use case for this strange vehicle. Rental agencies in Dubai that ferry people on dune bashing in Land Cruisers. This one seems like a perfect replacement for LCs with bit of a luxury thrown in for somewhat richer clientele.
But how I wish they had added Safari windows on the roof? That would have been perfect.

At first glance, I honestly thought this image was a photo-shop job. That rear end is a little TOO straight cut, especially in profile. It looks like they have taken a metro coach and sawed it somewhere in the middle. Something off about the proportions of this car.

It's the rear overhang that is off in proportions. Can't think of this as a proper off-roader really. The rear overhang is too much for a respectable departure angle. Not that passenger ride quality matters a lot in off-roaders, but the last row would definitely feel like a bouncy bus.

Cross posting this pic of Defender 130 being offloaded a truck in India, from the "Supercars & Imports in Delhi" thread.

Re: Land Rover Defender 130 triple-row SUV, now launched internationally

The Defender 130 has to be the most disproportionate looking design to have come out in recent memory. I thought I'd get used to it by now, but no. Still reeks of poor aesthetics and not to forget the horrid departure angle for what is supposed to be an off-roader.
