Toyota's AYGO X Prolouge- Concept car in the A Segment for Europe.

The all-new Aygo has been designed and developed in Europe for Europe where it will still have a combustion engine. Positioned below the Yaris supermini, the new pint-sized model will likely be powered by a three-cylinder gasoline unit.

It will be underpinned by the same TNGA-B platform used by its bigger brother and the newly added Yaris Cross, allowing Toyota to achieve the necessary economies of scale and build a business case for the Aygo. The production model will probably be unveiled by the end of the year or early 2022 seeing as how prototypes have already been spotted hiding the final look.

New Toyota Aygo 2022 on tests:

It will be manufactured in Europe and will reach dealerships in 2022.






An anticipated design, to some extent, through the Toyota Aygo X Prologue concept model.

The new Aygo will make use of the GA-B platform,a variant of the TNGA architecture intended for small cars. It is the same base used by the Toyota Yaris and the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, the platform for the Aygo will have a shorter wheelbase than those models and, therefore, to achieve dimensions typical of a city car.

Toyota will resort to a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum power of 95 hp

First deliveries are expected to take place sometime in the first half of 2022. The launch will take place in the month of November.

Toyota Aygo Cross, a new and small SUV for the city

It is developed on an adapted version of the GA-B platform. The use of this architecture is decisive to offer standards of security and agility well above the average.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Aygo Cross is slightly longer. Its length reaches 3.7 meters. However, its short overhangs added to an important battle, allows to have a spacious cabin while maintaining a restrained size.

under its hood is a 1KR-FE gasoline engine 1.0 liters with three cylinders that develops a power of 72 hp and 205 Nm of maximum torque. It can be associated with a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT type automatic transmission. Always with front-wheel drive.

On the front some optical groups that use LED technology to draw a characteristic luminous signature and wrap the upper part of the hood to simulate the shape of a wing. The grille has a considerable size and the fog lights are combined with a protective plate follow the double trapezoid motif that are already part of the identity of the Aygo.

The new wedge-shaped roof silhouette also helps to increase the dynamic feel of a sporty image. In addition, the two-tone finish of the body is obvious. The plastic fecings that protect the lower part of the body and the high ground clearance help to enhance its adventurous side.

Toyota indicates that the new Aygo Cross will set a trend in European cities from 2022.

inside the new Aygo Cross we will quickly be enveloped by a more digital and connected environment with respect to the outgoing model. In the same way, the feeling of quality and robustness has been significantly increased. Before going into detail, it should be noted that Toyota has reduced the level of interior noise by the widespread use of a greater amount of acoustic insulation materials.

The "nerve center" of the cabin is a 9-inch touchscreen to operate the Toyota Smart Connect system. In addition, digitization is also present in the instrument cluster. 205nm!!! Surely, it must be a typo.

Even if it is the turbo variant, the bhp figure should correspond to 98+bhp, not 72bhp.

The rear seat space should be nightmare for people with claustrophobia. Give me vibes of the FJ cruiser 2nd row seats.

2022 Toyota Aygo X priced from £14,795, comprises four specifications: Pure, Edge, Exclusive and Limited Edition.

All Aygo X models are available with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 71bhp and 69lb ft, and a choice of a five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission.
