It started out as a Skyline thread, but involves GT-R discussion too. There is another thread that involves discussion of the GT-R and the EVO X. If you would like it there, I'll move it.

I think this data is totally off..no way can a 450hp car beat the 612hp 3150lb Carrera GT and 650hp 2800lb Zonda F by this big a margin, I think its 7:50 that was mis-interpreted as 7:15, that can easily be done and 7:50 is an awesome time for the GTR which was trying to compete with the 7:47 marking 911 Turbo..

GTR pics (The real thing)

UNDISGUISED: 2009 Nissan GT-R - AutoWeek
Tokyo Auto Show: Edmunds InsideLine Is Nice, Lets Us Link To Their 2009 Nissan GT-R Photos - Jalopnik

Does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, quarter-mile in 11.7. Price < $80K.
Nice, but the front-end is a total turn-off. It works beautifully in an Audi; but the Evo X and GTR front-ends are totally meh.

I agree with you, front end doesnt match GTR at all but its surely a monster.
Still like the gtr34 and 32 more than this one.

It looks like a 350Z with a widebody and smaller headlights. Though the figures look yummy!

Didn't like the new GTR.
I just love the classic older GTR's , for me GTR is dead. The Nismo Z tune was the last ultimate Skyline for me.
Why cant they do something to the styling the way Ford did for the mustang ? The new mustang is definately recognizable as a Mustang, u can see the similarities in styling - just that the new Mustang has a slight modern feel to it but the basic shape and lines are like the original classic.
The new GTR looks as gay as the Infinity G35 with a body kit.

who cares about the front end, when a car can go this fast nobody is gonna see it.
under $80k sounds nice.

the car does not deserve to get the skyline badge at all. it looks more like the teanna coupe. nissan could have done much better.

Rumor: Nissan GTR to be Infiniti Sedan Also

Renders have leaked online that speculate that Infiniti might use the new GTRs underpinnings for a whole slew of variants. Rumor is they'll use the GTR's powerful engine and make a competitor to the BMW CS and Mercedes CLS.

Look at this website to look at brand new renders of what the Infiniti GTR might look like.

I guess this was just a matter of time really - Infiniti is a premium brand for Nissan and competes with the likes of BMW/Mercedes. Infiniti could do a lot more with a GTR-type car to battle the BMW 6 series and Mercedes SL.
