That is a fantastic, sporty looking car. It's a real pity that Honda has exited this space in India. The D1 segment is so bare with just an uninspiring Elantra and an overpriced Octavia.

Wish Honda revisits their decision and bring the Civic back.

A similar City hatchback is just what they want in India. Sedans as a body shape are not finding any takers in India at the moment. A fastback City in the 10-15 lakhs price range will peel off some customers from Creta/Seltos. Poor man's X6 for a poor man's mid life crisis

Honda is carrying over the centrally-mounted triple exhaust tips, as well as the hood vent for extra cooling.

First Look Inside The 2022 Honda Civic Type R:

the interior largely carries over from the standard hatchback as we can see a familiar dashboard with honeycomb mesh trim and a freestanding infotainment system that presumably measures 9-inches. It should be joined by either a 7- or 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.

I wonder whether there is a market for a full system (proper) hybrid of the Civic and the Altis to retail in India at 30 - 33 lakh on road.

If the reasonable success of the Camry is anything to go by, I’d like to think there is. They should just give it adequate ground clearance though. There are still some people who prefer sedans, want a petrol car (not diesel) but seek better FE, and I think if some practical aspects like ground clearance etc are suitably addressed, it will have its market. All said and done, a sedan usually gives better back seat comfort and more space in its own way than an SUV (how much a hybrid with its battery placement will compromise some of those inherent advantages of course has to be seen). Lastly there’s also the fun to drive factor of course too with sedans.

2022 Honda Civic Si launched exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.

In terms of appearance, the Civic Si differentiates itself with a more aggressive front bumper and gloss black trim covers the mirrors and window surrounds.



At the rear it comes with a gloss-black trunk-mounted spoiler and exposed exhaust tips.



New Civic Si is powered by an updated 1.5-liter engine which makes 200 hp and 260 Nm. Power is down by 5hp from the outgoing model‘s 205 hp .



New Civic Si is only available with a six-speed manual, featuring the same rev-matching technology as found in the Type R.



The interior has been largely carried over from the regular 2022 Civic Sedan, Red contrasting trim is used everywhere, brightening up the door panels, steering wheel, and shift boot, and also accentuates the trick honeycomb panel across the dash.



New Civic Si gets a seven-inch digital driver's display and a nine-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As standard, the Si features a 12-inch Bose sound system with a subwoofer.



The front occupants are greeted by Si-exclusive sports seats with built-in head restraints.



LED headlights and taillights are standard, as are 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels finished in Si-specific matte-black paint. Blazing Orange, the color seen here, is also an Si-exclusive color for 2022.

2021 Honda Civic scores 5 overall stars in ASEAN NCAP safety assessments, becoming the second model after the Perodua Ativa to do so under ASEAN NCAP's new assessment protocol.

This is the third assessment that ASEAN NCAP performed on the Honda Civic model. For this assessment, the Civic is Honda’s first model to undergo the new ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 protocol. The new sedan offers standard 6 airbags whilst 4 airbags variants are offered in certain markets. The model is equipped with standard fitment of ABS, ESC, AEB City, AEB Inter-Urban, AEB Pedestrian, Auto High Beam (AHB), Child Presence Detection (CPD) and Pedestrian Protection technology across all its variants. SBR for frontal and rear occupants and Blind Spot Visualization (BSV) on passenger side also comes as standard for markets in Singapore and Indonesia. Other safety technologies namely FCW, LDW, LKA and Driver Attention Monitor are available as standard equipment. Most importantly, the new Honda Civic now comes with AEB for Motorcycle, which the first of such technology in South East Asia. Under the 2021-2025 assessment protocol, the new Honda Civic has successfully obtained a total score of 83.47 points from the AOP, COP, SAT and MS domains. The score has made the Civic eligible to be awarded with 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating.
