From "inherited" Audi LED headlights to driving assistants, Hatch wants to be the most modern among competitors

All units had headlights on LEDs, either with mirrors such as nivus, or headlights more elaborate in the GTS using projectors, the same used by the GTI Polo in Europe. And indeed, Volkswagen will use the technology throughout the polo 2023 line.

According to VW engineering, swapping halogens for LEDs saves about 3% fuel. This will therefore require less of the alternator to recharge the battery and, consequently, requiring less from the combustion engine. It is something small, but it goes into a list of changes made in search of greater efficiency of vehicles. This also goes into the CO2 emissions bill, reduced the annual average by 7g for each car with the technology.

Daytime running lights, position light, arrow, high and low headlight are on LEDs and will be from the entry version of the Polo to the probable Highline. For the GTS, the same part applied in the GTI will come from Germany, more modern and complex

The Matrix LED of the Polo GTS consists of 6 LEDs in each headlight for the high beam, which adapts with the help of a camera, to avoid obfuscation of other drivers. They light up and turn off individually as needed, regardless of the low headlight cannon. Daytime running lights and arrows will also use LEDs in GTS. It's called IQ. Light, light.

In addition to the new headlights, the hatch will have systems already present in the T-Cross and Nivus SUVs, such as adaptive autopilot, collision alert with automatic braking and digital panel in all versions - 8 inches in the cheapest configurations and 10 inches in the most expensive. In addition to the arrival of versions with the less powerful 1.0 turbo engine in place of the 1.6 aspirated, it will continue with the 1.0 turbo 200TSI and the 1.4 turbo in the GTS.

New Polo for Brazil:

This is the Volkswagen Polo 2023, the restyled version of the compact hatchback, which finally makes its official debut in Brazil. Produced in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), it gains a new look partially inspired by the European model and a new engine, with the 1.0 turbo in a 116 hp variant for the input versions. It will be sold in 4 versions.

Prices start at R$ 88,990, reaching R$ 109,990 at Highline. (~ INR 13.7 - 17 Lakhs)

2023 Polo for Brazil will not be exactly the same as the European model. The front is very close, adopting the same bumper using a much wider air intake, with a division for the horizontal fog lights. What will be quite different from the European Pole is the absence of the illuminated bar at the bottom of the grille and the LED headlights, which will use a simpler set. You will only have the same headlight in the GTS version, using an LED line at the bottom for daytime lighting

On the other side, the Polo 2023 totally different at the rear. It will not bring the same lanterns as the European version (which were inspired by the new Golf), abandoning the idea of a part stretched towards the center of the trunk cover. Instead, the set will be the same as the previous Pole, retaining the format and receiving only a new internal drawing. Not even the bumper changes much, descending the reflective strip to stand next to the area of the plate.

Contrary to expectations, the 84 hp and 10.3 kgfm 1.0 MPI engine was kept in line for the input version called MPI only, available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The other versions will bring the 1.0 TSI of 116 hp at 5,000 rpm and 16.8 kgfm between 1,750 and 4,200 rpm. The specifications of this engine ended up leaking in the hatch's online manual, and is available with 5-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed automatic.

The top of the line will be the Polo GTS, sports configuration that is also the only one to use the 1.4 TSI of 150 hp at 4,500 rpm and 25.5 kgfm between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm, also automatic only. However, this version will make its debut at another time

That’s indeed a looker. Sad we might not get this.
If launched in India it might cost equivalent to Taigun, and that’s why might not make sense for VW. Let’s hope they indeed surprise us, atleast in limited numbers.
