If I remember correctly, the city shares its underpinnings with Jazz. So indirectly, this new SUV is based on the Jazz platform/chassis?

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

I'm currently in the market for a 7 seater. Preferably a CSUV. We have had a Brio for the last 7 years and it's always been a joy to drive. Eagerly waiting to see if Honda will bring the H7X to India.

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

Honda NX7 is likely to be the next generation BR-V. Launching in August -21.

Will be available in 5 seat and 7 seat configurations.

First, there is a new code for the next-gen Honda 7-seater crossover – DG3.

The 1.5 Prestige HS CVT:
Granted, the Honda Sensing features would probably be similar to what’s on the City RS which includes Honda Lane Watch feature due to the presence of the camera in the rearview mirror.
Other variants might miss out on the ADAS suite but some of the higher trims could get Honda LaneWatch as evidenced by the bulge on the passenger side mirror.

Prices for the supposed top-of-the-line variant of the next-gen BR-V are shown to be less than the highest trim of the outgoing BR-V.

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

Honda BR-V patent pictures leaked. Only difference between the pre-production N7X concept and production ready BRV is the absence of the lower DRL in the BRV which is replaced by a fog lamp.

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

Thats the same Honda Amaze dashboard, just finished in black and with a larger touchscreen incorporated.

Not really a surprise considering the previous generation BRV shared dashboard with the Amaze as well.

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

Patent images of the all-new Honda BR-V have been leaked. The production-ready version of the 7-seater SUV is expected to make its global debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), which is scheduled to be held in August 2021.

The registered patent images consist of pictures of the car’s headlights, radiator grille, front bumper, tail lights and rear bumper. The pictures indicate that these parts are not very different from those seen on the Honda N7X Concept, which was revealed in May 2021.

The Honda N7X Concept had a bulge on its left mirror which served as a camera mount. The same bulge is seen in the patent images as well. This indicates the presence of the Honda Lane Watch system, which monitors the left side of the car to expand visibility and reduce the driver's blind spot.

The one difference that we could spot between the N7X concept and production-ready BR-V is that the lower DRLs in the BR-V have been replaced by fog lamps.

Now it looks much more SUV-ish, a proper Creta / Seltos rival. Earlier it looked like a van with body cladding.

Hope it comes equipped with the 1.6 L Earth Dreams diesel engine as well, with the same tune as the erstwhile CRV diesel. The 1.5 L diesel is lame (despite being a smaller version of the same engine).

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

Very CRV like! Let's hope the SUV market is still hot if and when they bring it to our shores.
Off topic - I had commented about Honda's competency in engines in a different thread. Do you guys think having 2 petrol engines and 1 diesel engine for a 4 car lineup is the ideal model spread for Honda? The City's engine should be put in other cars to spread costs, but then they're stuck with the sub-4m/sub-1.2l rules. Until they figure out a way to use City's engine in other cars, they will not achieve economies of scale. May be a raised City like Subaru Outback, or a City hatch could sell well. Or join the Toyota+Maruti team until someone sues for anti-competitive behavior.

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

When Hyundai launching cars like new dishes in a restaurant, all we're getting to see is the patent images of Honda's next model.

I know car design is not easy, but Honda (which has the competent City/Jazz platform) failing to see a business opportunity with a well designed 7-seater SUV for the Asian markets is beyond me.

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

This patent leaking seems to be happening at greater frequency.
There was recently Alto and Celerio patents "leaked".

While this is great for us enthusiasts, but it begs the question, is this "leaking" of information a good thing?

Shouldn't the patent information remain confidential ? Sorry if this is a noob.

In all likelihood, it is done by the companies themselves to start generating interest in the public.

It's something like the covers getting leaked of the latest mobile flagships which leads people to start talking about the upcoming launch!

Re: The N7X Concept : Honda's 7-seater SUV for Asia

A straight window line and a strong side character line. The sheer difference it makes.

Surprised that I feel excited for this. Maybe the lack of non Korean >4m diesel crossovers in the sub 15 lakhs segment? More so since I didn't particularly like the cars coming from the Brio platform, except for the Brio.
Another stupid expectation I have is that this would be positioned against the Marazzo, when most probably Honda may, if they launch it, price it against the Alcazar.

Also read somewhere that the BR-V was more Honda City based than Amaze based, atleast the fron end of the platform. Honda, just launch it. Give it the 1.6idtec. You are already making the engine here. Screw the insurance costs.

Honda Elevate trademark filed in India, could be the upcoming 7 seater N7X concept ( BRV successor).
