Introducing the N 7X Concept: 7 seater from Honda

Will it take on Hyundai's Alcazar in India?













Designed and engineered by Honda R&D Asia Pacific, the N7X Concept showcases the possible design direction of Honda’s small 7-seater SUV. Immediately, it shows a stronger, more masculine stance with its upright solid-wing grille, large LED headlights, and squared off bumpers. At the back, it gets LED light guides—a feature seen in the all-new City.

Honda has unveiled the N7X Concept in Indonesia today. The brand has emphasized that N7X is designed to give good drivability, convenience, premium comfort, and peace of mind.

N7X should be an ideal replacement for the BR-V in India and can be placed in the 10-20L bracket. Honda has drawn proper SUV styling for the 7-Seater this time. The concept adopts styling from some of the premium Honda SUVs in developed markets. Here are some images from the unveiling event.

Looks a lot better than the BRV that was sold in India.
Changes akin to the 11th Gen Civic are also noticeable with more straight-line creases and Euro-type styling.

Honda definitely needs to bring this to India and compete with Alcazar, knowing how good they are with managing space in the interiors, it will be a better 7 seater than the competition.

Those rear taillights reminds me of the ones on the 5th gen City. If this is a 7 seater as stated, then it could be a worthy adversary to the upcoming Alcazar. Honda has been missing its share of pie in the Indian market and this single product could put them back in the limelight. This thing looks more like a production ready model, rather than a concept car !

This concept car adopts the various advantages of the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to create a complete 7-seater car for use in various road conditions. Offering the delightful driving performance typical of Honda, the N7X Concept combines the premium comfort and spaciousness typical of an MPV with the toughness and style of an SUV.

From the outside, the N7X Concept features a sleek body with sharp lines, a sturdy hood and large tires to complete its strong yet elegant appearance. Great news for Honda fans! And the design is quite appealing and carrying over many design cues from other models.
The silhouette is giving a hint of CRV, the tail lights very closely resemble to that 5th Gen city. The front grill is quite imposing and exudes masculinity. The car looks to be equipped with lane watch camera or 360 degree view.
If Honda brings it to India and positions & prices the product sensibly it can find many a buyers!

This looks a lot more premium than the BRV. Heck it even has the SUV content more than BRV. I hope they plan on bringing it to India. With the strong brand image of Honda, this can dent the sales of Koreans.

Here comes the New 7 Seater eXcitement (N7X) which was introduced for the first time in the world as Honda's newest 7-seater concept car. The N7X Concept combines the premium comfort and spaciousness typical of an MPV and the toughness and style of an SUV.

The clean cut, old school SUV profile is very unlike other Honda SUVs which are more crossover or MPVish in character. Side glass area is reminiscent of the old CRV and the rear hatch has VW inspired elements. It boggles my mind that despite all the speculation, Honda Motors India does not have more SUVs in its product portfolio.

After all the quirky samurai sword swing style designs of the past decade, Honda is getting back to clean and likeable ones.

Honda should bring this against CRETA as soon as possible with good choices of powertrains like 1.5P, 1.0T P, 1.5D in MT & AT variants.

The styling is impressive like the new HRV, but have some doubts like, is it a reworked/restyled BRV ?
The design reminds me of VW TROC and Chinese ROEWE RX8.

Don't keep on deliberating on the HRV for India.

Just bring this to India already!!! Yeah, it's not a pucca international model and is more for the developing world, but then is the Honda City or in fact everything under 20 lakhs.

Just bring the N7X here and give it the engines/tranny of the City. Even if there isn't any turbo petrol or hybrid it will sell like hot cakes. Price it at par or at a slight premium to the new Honda City. Don't worry about cannabilising the City. It will always have a loyal clientele, and the customers who want a crossover will anyway choose the Creta over the City.

I don’t think we should get excited just as yet. One look at the dash and the door pads indicates that this is probably based on the Amaze. From the face of it, it seems exactly what the BR-V was - A stretched Amaze.

The Amaze is a good car at the price point, but at the end of the day it is an economy car. It would probably be best if Honda spent their resources in launching the hybrid City and HR-V instead of another car based on the Amaze.

My excitement vanished as soon as I saw the dashboard pic. N7X is the new BRV based on current generation Amaze.
