Many European car manufacturers launch cars in India touting it as a success and the best car to have landed on Indian shores. Minor fortunes are spent on automotive media, taking them to cool European climes, and testing the cars on the german autobahn. Of course, the media is enamoured, gives a glowing report, and prelaunch hype is built. Here are European sales of some of the cars that are sold in India (first figure is 2005 and 2nd for 2006). As can be seen, some are genuine successes while others are for you to decide.

Jan-Dec and this is from Automotive News Data Center which is the most authoritative source and most quoted.

Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovekia, Slovenia,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
As you can see, Romania is not present which accounts for more than 90% of Logan's sales. Also Russia.

In general, most of the cars have sold less in 2006 than in 2005. Is this saying something?
The Euro market is a stagnant one - and sales will not resemble a growing market's. This is highlighted by the total figures themselves.
Yes because of lower sales in UK, France and Spain.
Europeans are also feeling pinch of fuel price hike and are opting for small fuel efficient cars. Nice to see manufactured in India cars (Alto/Getz etc.) are picking up sales.
