Paul Walker's iconic Orange Supra from the Fast & Furious franchise up for auction

The iconic Toyota Supra from the first edition of the Fast & Furious movie franchise released in 2001, is up for auction. The Toyota Supra was driven by Brian O'Conner - a character played by the late Paul Walker.

The car will be up for sale at the Barrett-Jackson auction from June 17 to 19. It remains true to the original version seen in the movie, featuring the Candy Orange pearl-finish paint from the Lamborghini Diablo, along with the 'Nuclear Gladiator' motif on the sides.

The car also gets all the body kits, including the front spoiler and side skirts from Bomex, APR aluminium bi-plane rear wing, 19-inch five-spoke tuner wheels and a TRD-style bonnet.

The Toyota Supra was built for the movie by Eddie Paul at 'The Shark Shop', in El Segundo, California. The same car is also said to have been completely overhauled and used in the 2003's '2 Fast 2 Furious' movie. However, post the second film, the car was brought back to its original appearance from the first movie.

This particular car is said to be powered by the iconic 2JZ-GTE engine, which comes in the form of a 3.0-litre in-line 6, turbocharged unit. It is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The iconic Toyota Supra doesn't come with a 'reserve price' at the auction. However, considering its iconic status, it is expected to hit exorbitant prices. Along with the car, the sale will also include all the vehicle documentation including a certificate of authenticity.

The first movie under the 'Fast & Furious' franchise came out 20 years ago. The movie brought the American car tuner scene to the big screen, following the lives of main characters such as Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (played by the late Paul Walker).

The franchise has now introduced its 9th instalment, the Fast 9; which witnesses larger action sequences including a rocket-propelled Pontiac Fiero.

2001? That would make it, at a bare minimum 20 years old. How does the green tax thing work is western countries? Do they also have similar rules like we do?

I wonder who would acquire it and use it for what? Would it sit in a collector's garage or would it be used for regular commute. I hope it is used regularly, the faster the better. It would be apt considering the car's lineage.

This Supra will end up as a garage queen, there are very few Supra's burning rubber as it is. If someone wants a fast car they can go for a stock AMG or M edition and achieve it. If I recall correct it was claimed this Supra could do 0-60 in 5 sec, that's not fast by today's standards.

Please do check out this video by Craig Lieberman, the technical advisor for the first two Fast Franchise movies. His channel and excerpts are a gold mine of insider information on the beginnings, success of the franchise and the tuner scene of yesteryear.

This car was made to look that its is going fast and not necessarily designed/built to match figures of modified Supra's that we are so used to seeing after this movie came out.

For all you know it has been sloppily put together just like the Honda S2000 to fulfill its intended purpose in the movie.

So for it to hold on to its value it will have to be a garage queen and not a daily driver as the person buying and paying Big $ will be considering it as an investment.

Toyota Supra From 'Fast & Furious' Sells For $550,000 .

That went for a lot more than I would have thought it would have gone for. But on the bright side this is an Icon. Probably one of the most famous cars in the history of Hollywood .

The Honda S2000s driven by Johnny Tran and Suki in "The Fast and the Furious" and "2 Fast 2 Furious," were actually the same car. This was revealed by Craig Lieberman who worked as a technical advisor on both films.

Here is a video of the same. The car is seen arriving at Display at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas.

This Supra looks the part, though, sporting Lamborghini Diablo Candy Orange pearl paint, "Nuclear Gladiator" graphics, a Bomex front spoiler and side skirts, a TRD-style hood, an APR aluminum biplane rear wing, and 19-inch Dazz Motorsport Racing Hart M5 Tuner wheels. Despite the pristine finish, this car car was used for many stunts, or so say the auction announcers in the video above.

This car also left the factory with the 2JZ-GTE twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6, albeit coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission, rather than a manual.

The Toyota Supra auctioned for US$ 550,000 (Rs. 4.08 crore) at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. The sports car was used in the first two instalments of the 'Fast and Furious' movie franchise.

The first instalment of the movie featured the car in its now-iconic Candy-Orange paint scheme with the 'Nuclear Gladiator' motif on the sides. The car was then said to have been completely overhauled and used again in '2 Fast 2 Furious', before being brought back to its original appearance.

This particular car is said to be powered by Toyota's 2JZ-GTE engine, which comes in the form of a 3.0-litre, in-line 6-cylinder turbo-petrol unit. The engine is further said to be paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The '10-second car' also features a body kit that includes a TRD-style bonnet, 19-inch five-spoke wheels and side skirts; among a few others.
