The Corvette C8 had its global unveil in 2019. Back then, General Motors had confirmed that a right-hand-drive (RHD) version of the C8 will be offered at some stage. Now, a little over two years later, a media report suggests that the RHD model will be introduced in Japan.



Japan is said to be the first market for the RHD version of the Corvette C8. The American sports car brand also plans to introduce it in other RHD markets such as Australia and the UK very soon.



Once introduced in Japan, the C8 will become the first Corvette to feature a right-hand-drive variant from the factory. However, all 300 units of the RHD Corvette C8 allotted for Japan are said to have sold out immediately after its announcement.



Reports suggest that Chevrolet had a special event for owners of the C8 in Japan, at the Fuji Speedway, sometime last month. The event included a demonstration by pro drivers and an interview with Corvette's chief engineer Tadge Juechter.



The Corvette C8 is powered by a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine producing 495 BHP and 637 Nm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
