2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 teased; global unveil on October 26

Chevrolet has released a new teaser of its upcoming Corvette C8 Z06 while also confirming its global unveil date. The American carmaker has confirmed that the new Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 will have its debut on October 26, 2021.

The teaser image and video released with the unveil date, showcased a camouflaged Corvette C8 Z06 next to the C8.R race car. The video also showcases the prototype C8 Z06 lapping both the Nurburgring in Germany and the Circuit de la Sarthe in France - the same track where the 24 Hours of Le Mans is held.

While Chevrolet hasn’t released any details of the Corvette C8 Z06, it is expected to borrow its engine from the C8.R race car. This comes in the form of a 5.5-litre flat-plane crank V8 engine, producing over 600 BHP and paired with a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 unveiled with world's most powerful NA V8 engine

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has made its official global debut. The new Z06 is the most powerful version of the mid-engine Corvette C8 model that was unveiled back in 2019.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 comes with a 5.5-litre, naturally-aspirated, V8 engine producing 670 BHP @ 8,400 rpm and 623 Nm @ 6,300 rpm. The engine is further paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Chevrolet claims that the Z06 is capable of sprinting from 0 - 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds.

Along with the massive jump in performance compared to the standard models, the Z06 also features a bunch of aerodynamic and styling updates, including multiple carbon fibre components. The Corvette Z06 also features a new front fascia to allow for better air intake, quad exhaust tips at the rear, a large rear spoiler, 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels shod with specially developed Michelin Sport Cup 2 R ZP tyres.

Re: 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 unveiled with world's most powerful NA V8 engine

A lot of Old School Corvette guys might dislike this Z06 due to the lack of pushrod V8s and superchargers and also due to no manual transmissions but I absolutely love it. This car feels more Ferrari-esque than the majority of the modern Ferraris themselves.

This for me is the true spiritual successor to the amazing 458 in terms of its powertrain and going by its specs, it truly is a supercar, unlike the previous Corvettes where it was always controversial in terms of calling it a sports car or a supercar (apart from maybe the C7 ZR1).

This C8 Z06 is probably going to cost a bomb judging by the chip shortages and assessing the regular C8 market where it supposedly started at 60,000 dollars but the used market and dealership mark-ups have been charging upwards of 110,000 dollars.

Re: 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 unveiled with world's most powerful NA V8 engine

This car makes some awesome noises. It can be safely said that this Corvette sounds a lot more like a supercar when compared to it's predecessors. For me, this is the best sounding V8 ever. Period. ( Subjective, is it not? )

Interestingly, Chevy seems to have bought a 458 engine on Ebay. Read why here.

I feel James and Thomas will do a better job of explaining the other aspects of this car than I ever will :
