I believe above posts are on the international release of the CR-V and as mentioned, we might not even get it in India for this model generation.
I wish it was local news and aa coincidence though that Honda looks marvellous : )

Re: Next-gen Honda CR-V to receive significant updates; unveil expected in mid-2022

More pics of the New CR-V:

There are 4 versions of the new CR-V: EX. EX-L, Sport and Sport Touring.
The regular Touring is gone. The top of the line is now their Sport Touring pictured here (with these tacky black wheels)
Honda has claimed they will push the Hybrid versions of the new CR-V and upcoming new Accord.
For 2023, the Hybrid powertrain is standard on Sport and Sport Touring, but not available in EX or EX-L.

Following Honda's trend of "flatter hoods" with their new generations of cars and crossovers. And a larger panoramic sunroof is still not available in the US.

Otherwise, the EX and EX-L get the same 1.5 Liter as before. And the Hybrid loses a little bit of power while producing a bit more torque.
The current CR-V was in desperate need of an upgrade. The new HR-V is surprisingly upscale and refined. Which means the new larger CR-V could feel much more upscale and refined than ever before.

Re: Next-gen Honda CR-V to receive significant updates; unveil expected in mid-2022

Underpinning the 2023 CR-V is Honda’s enhanced global architecture which the automaker says creates a smoother ride and greater stability. It also benefits from a 15 per cent torsionally-stiffer body while revised MacPherson strut front suspension and variable-ratio steering improve feel and accuracy.

Powering the CR-V EX and EX-L models is an updated 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 190 hp and 179 lb-ft (243 Nm) of torque between 1,700 and 5,000 rpm. Mated to this engine is a CVT and all variants have Honda’s Rear Time AWD system.

As for the CR-V Sport and Sport Touring, they are equipped with a new hybrid system that pairs a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder with a pair of electric motors. Combined power sits at 204 hp and 247 lb-ft (335 Nm) of torque. These models offer up to 2,200 lbs (1,000 kg) of towing capacity.

The 2023 Honda CR-V will launch this summer while Hybrid models will land later in the year.

Would there realistically be any chance of this being launched in India?

Definitely the best looking CR-V ever. And very nice move to offer completely different appearance between the normal versions and the Touring models.

The figures looks like Honda has given more importance to drivability than for the power figures. CR-V was a great drivers car, especially it being an SUV. With these upgraded torque and stiffened suspension, that ought to make it better.

Very minor chance. Honda attempted CBU mode twice - Once with the Civic Hybrid, and secondly with the Accord Hybrid. Both were failures, so very less likely for them to attempt the CBU mode.
And for Honda to go the CKD mode, they need the Tapukara factory to be functional. But that being closed and no signs of reopening, this appears to be highly unlikely as well.

Honda India is missing out an otherwise amazing sales feat, thats the Indian market currently. Every other manufacturer is increasing prices every few weeks and still having fat sales whereas Honda India is still running with 3K apiece sale of the City and Amaze

I love the interior design language of the new age Hondas.
It just has the right mix of buttons, screens and minimal approach to it.
With the Hybrid game now catching mainstream in India, it would be great if Honda gets it in India
Could spice up the niche segment which Skoda-VW have captured with the likes of Kodiaq and Tiguan

Of course Honda will launch it in India. But only when SUV craze will be at its peak and every Tom, Tik and Harry would have enjoyed the money rain by selling their SUVs and captured the market.

History repeats itself. Some years back, Honda brought diesel engine only when diesel cars' high demand was at its peak and everybody else had already raked the moolah by selling their diesel cars.

Honda is a typical random investor. Invest when price is high and exit when market crashes.

Why rave over the CRV or Jimny which might not see our shores. Both will never offer 4x4/awd in diesel engine.
The Tucson launched yesterday is a winner with its diesel awd engine.
The Gurkha is brick of all SUVs.

Given the CRV was launched on our shores there is no harm in asking if the new one may? As for your comment on 4x4/AWD, for me it works either way.

I have yet to see the Tucson in person but I personally don't like its super aggressive crossover design which most likely will age as well as the fluidic verna did, and the interiors as so-so. Whereas I like the more traditional 'boxy' SUV look of the exteriors of the new CRV as well as the clean and to the point interiors of the same.

I carry your words too.
CRV was a class of it's own, no doubt, and it's true that we long what we miss.
I was about to go for the CRV last year (before sales stopped by Honda), but aborted. Hope our wishes get heard by the manufacturers.

2023 Honda CR-V – production of 6th-gen SUV kicks off in Canada, US plants to follow in the coming days.

In North America, the 2023 CR-V will have two turbocharged trim levels (EX and EX-L), while the Sport and Sport Touring trims will be hybrid-only. The 1.5T puts out 193 PS and 243 Nm of torque and is paired to a CVT. The hybrid’s setup is similar to that of the latest Civic e:HEV, combining a 2.0L Atkinson cycle, an e-CVT and two electric motors for a total system output of 207 PS

Earlier this month, the next-gen CR-V was caught testing in Thailand. The CR-V has a good track record in ASEAN and is a household name here, so we’re definitely getting it. Production in Thailand and Malaysia to start in 2023?

Re: Next-gen Honda CR-V to receive significant updates; unveil expected in mid-2022

Just read on Top Gear UK magazine that I picked up on an international Flight, about the plug in hybrid version of this car that’s being launched in Europe. The interesting part of this vehicle is that the mileage while running on ICE mode after the battery empties is almost as good as mileage of the regular car, which is a mild hybrid. This overcomes one of the biggest limitations of plug-in hybrids, which is that you lug around a heavy battery, once it is empty, which then affects milage on long distance journeys.

Honda has managed to eke out excellent FE of 45.6 mpg post battery discharge when the vehicle is on ICE mode, versus 47.9 mpg for the mild hybrid - a merely 5% penalty of lugging around the battery. Most other manufacturers have about 28 KWHr battery in their plug in hybrids that causes a steep drop in FE and acceleration once the battery is fully discharged after a typical 60-80 km electric-only range. Honda engineering seems to have overcome one of the biggest complaints about plug-in hybrids, if these claims are indeed true.

On the CRV plug-in hybrid, you get about 80 km of EV operation with the battery fully charged, which is plenty for most daily commutes. What is more, the battery takes only 2.5 hours on a 7 kW charger to go from empty to full, because the battery capacity is only 17.7 kWh. Which means you can charge it quickly at your office during a 3-hour visit, if your one way commute is more than about 30-40 kms.

This plug-in hybrid also does 0-100 in approximately nine seconds and has a massive boot of 635 L. I think this would be all the car that the upper middle class urban Indian with a mix of office commutes and weekend out-of-town trips needs, without range anxieties and offering near zero fuel bills (except the days you forget to charge the battery or go on a long distance trip, and even then, you get 10+ kpl efficiency. Plus good looks, great space and decent acceleration to boot!

I do hope this car gets launched in India soon at a reasonable price point of about 40 lakhs or so. It would be a strong alternative to the Tucson and BMW X1. One other interesting upcoming contender in the segment would be the Nissan XTrail strong hybrid, which has a turbo petrol engine plus strong hybrid tech, as well as AWD and three rows of seats. But all Nissan does is periodically threaten to launch this car, but never actually do so.

Unfortunately, looking at the GBP 53000 price quoted in the picture you have attached, this car would need to be well over ₹50 l ex show room in India - in all likelihood closer to ₹60 l. Which is the challenge Honda faces - who will pay ₹60 l for a Honda?
