Hyundai Casper SUV globally unveiled; India launch expected soon

It looks like Nexon at the front, Xpresso from the side and a mix of Matiz (those who have seen it) and Spark and Ignis from the rear.

Being Hyundai and sporty it will make good numbers for sure as long as the positioning is below Venue as Xpresso competitor.

Hyundai should have reserved the " Santro" name for this. Quirky design but stands out just the way it did way back in late 90's ,here in India. The Santro which was launched few years back is a flop for sure. Or will hyundai replace it with this

I ain't a fan of the looks, but there is no doubt that it'll be an excellent city car. If Hyundai gets the pricing right, this'll be a game changer.

This is one of those design that I really like when I see it for the first time and if I see it occasionally but just like a VW Beetle, Mini Cooper or Fiat 500, I don't want to see it day in and day out for the rest of the ownership period. Or may be it will grow up on me like the Ignis which I so disliked when it launched but ended up owning one!

Overall I like it for being different but those head-lamp and tail-lamps give me a railway coach buffer vibe to it.

To me it appears to be a Eon replacement in the market.
Its quirky and heavily stylized but the variant with the silver grill looks like a plastic toy car

The other one is still bearable but I don't see the cuteness or quirkiness in these photos tbh.
The retro look they have tried to achieve seems a little too out of touch. It does look like ignis but in my opinion ignis is way better looking.

My goodness, it's getting worse by each passing year, isnt it. Is anyone going to be arrested for designing this monstrosity? Seems like some previous designers from Mahindra have sneaked their way into Hyundai, either that or the head designer is being paid by a rival to sabotage the company.

I wonder if a person can take this car out for a spin in the rain, considering the placement of speakers is outside and you wouldn't want fried electronics.

Or maybe it's created keeping politicians in mind, now so that they won't have to invest in additional speakers, but I doubt anyone would vote for a guy seen campaigning in this.

P.S.

@Romeo_Mike mentioned that they might have been inspired by the Honda E. Well they didn't do a good job evidently. The Honda E should probably be a benchmark on how to create a small car that is quirky and unique but not ghastly.
