Hyundai Casper launched in S Korea at a starting price of 13.85 million won ( ~₹ 8.7 lakhs )

Hyundai operates Casper with a gasoline 1.0 engine, and turbo models equipped with a gasoline 1.0 turbo engine operate as an optional 'Casper Active' option.

The gasoline 1.0 has a maximum output of 76PS (horsepower), a maximum torque of 9.7kgf m, and a combined fuel efficiency of 14.3km/ℓ. .

The selling price of Casper is the basic model
-Smart 13.85 million won
-Modern 15.9 million won
-Inspiration 18.7 million won.


Customers can experience Casper's merchandising at a reasonable price as various safety and convenience features such as smart entry trim, intelligent safety technology, front seat center side airbag, 4.2-inch color LCD cluster, and lock folding are applied as standard.

The optional 'Casper Active' consisting of a 1.0 turbo engine and a dynamic dedicated exterior design is available in all trims. The price is
-Smart/Modern 950,000 Won
- Inspiration 900,000 Won will be added.

Casper is equipped with advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and 7 airbags, including center side airbags for front seats, as standard, and secures a high-rigidity and lightweight body structure to ensure safety beyond the class.


Hyundai Motor Company introduced intelligent safety technology on all Casper trims such as ▲ Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (Vehicle/Pedestrian/Bicyclist) ▲ Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) ▲ Lane Keeping Assist (LFA) ▲ Driver Attention Warning (DAW) ▲ High Beam Assist (HBA) ) ▲ The safety and convenience of the class were secured for the first time in the light model by default, such as the departure notification of the vehicle ahead.


From the modern trim, you can additionally select and apply Hyundai SmartSense, which includes ▲Front Collision-Avoidance Assist (Crossroads) ▲Rear Side Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Smart Cruise Control.

18,940 units booked on the first day of ‘Casper’, the highest in Hyundai Motor’s internal combustion engine history!

This Casper Early Bird reservation is the highest number of pre-orders among Hyundai Motor's internal combustion engine vehicles, which is 1646 higher than the 17,294 units of the 6th-generation Grandeur partial change model released in November 2019.

A note to Hyundai India if they are ever following this thread:

- Indian consumers can afford Casper
- People here are more educated and informed about various safety and comfort aspects
- Don't you really want to eat into Maruti's market share?
- Don't you really want to be a progressive company in an almost tech stagnant market (I meant you, MS)?

Hyundai has a winner, if they launch Casper in India. I rest my case.

History is full of interesting stories of opportunities lost because someone in authority said "No" when they should have said "Yes". This may be one of those - maybe !!

It is surprising Hyundai is not launching Casper in India. It could easily have taken away some of the the sales of Ignis, i10 and Wagon R.

It looks like an ideal product for the Indian cities. Maybe, they did not want to cannibalize their own line up.

Selling 3-5 thousand units of the Casper a month will not be a big challenge for them.

Hopefully Hyundai will change it's mind and launch it soon enough.

Casper looks very cute. Its compact dimensions looks like it is perfectly suited for our roads. The AC vents are very similar in design to Opel Corsa/Astra which was sold in India. Hope Hyundai India brings this car.
