Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

Honda unveiled a concept 7-seater SUV called the N7X earlier this year. The Japanese automaker is now ready to globally premiere the final production-spec version of the SUV. Honda Indonesia has announced that the final production-spec version of the N7X 7-seater SUV will be unveiled on September 21, 2021.

The production version of the N7X concept is expected to replace the brand's BR-V SUV. The concept version of the SUV borrowed design cues from the latest-generation City and HR-V models. It also comes with LED headlamps with integrated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), a large front grille, with plenty of chrome elements, wraparound LED taillights and plenty of other features.

The Honda N7X is said to share its platform with the latest-gen City. This indicates that the upcoming SUV could carry forward the same engine and transmission options as the sedan offering.

Honda could bring the production version of the N7X SUV to India as well. As per earlier reports, the company has confirmed the development of a mid-size SUV for the Indian market, based on the same platform as the 5th-gen City. The new SUV, however, is expected to make its arrival in India sometime in August 2023.

Minus the chrome on the grill, that's a handsome looking SUV. Digging the new Honda design language, I just wished they'd get that new Civic here.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

They can sell 5000 units easily in India if they launch it now (even if they overprice it). August 2023 is very very late and they cannot continue selling current products till then. Other than new City there is nothing remotely attractive in Honda showroom now.

They should launch:
Jazz Cross (Hybrid)
City (Hybrid)
N7X
+ few CBU products

Otherwise they will follow Ford in couple of years and we suffer.

That's a handsome car. Two things for Honda to keep in mind
1. Timing and pricing - the inevitable delays in the program and the eventual business cycle could mean we could be staring at a recession during its launch.
2. Size and proportion - BRV failed because of its van type looks (looks more like a Mobilio facelift). It should have a proper suv stance for it to succeed in India.

Looks to be based on the 2nd generation Amaze on sale here in India, and not the City.

In fact - as per the spy shots earlier - even the dashboard is just the same as the Amaze, only difference being the all-black theme. Front door pads are straight out of the Amaze too, with the exception of the all-black theme. Steering wheel is same too.

This was the case with the earlier generation BRV as well.

Good I ordered a bag of salt today..will go well with this news ( the N7X based SUV coming to India part).

But Honda if you are really considering bringing this to India, please don't make it another rattle box just to chase attractive pricing and unrealistic volumes. That does more damage than good in the long run. I believe there are still a lot of followers left in this country who would pay the premium for that rock solid Honda quality of yesteryears.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

It's not that difficult to find out it's a Mobilio/BR-V underneath and they have just cleaned up the sides (design-wise, removing that stupid kink by raising the beltline) and slapped Vezel like grill. Rear quarter glass, lengthy rear door, front windshield area, etc... shows that. So, essentially still a Brio/Amaze platform?!

BR-V face looked decent in my opinion but this side looks clean. I guess it was overall a decent car but may be not for the price earlier?

I thought the old Mobilo was based on the Amaze/Brio platform. The N7H is claimed to be based on City platform. If my understanding is correct, the new H7X could be a good product and not just Mobilio/BRV in a new bottle.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

Dead on arrival! Given the City's pricing and the fact that this car is going to come with the same 1.5L NA petrol engine, it is going nowhere. The rest of the market has punchy turbo petrols and diesels.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

This is the all-new 2022 Honda BR-V, full Honda Sensing, 6 airbags, new DOHC engine.

Honda developed a concept model called the New 7 Seater eXcitement (N7X) to capture consumer feedback on the concept that became the forerunner of the second generation of the Honda BR-V. After being exhibited in various regions in Indonesia, the N7X Concept received a very positive response from consumers which later became the basis for the development of the All New Honda BR-V.

Quote:
The all-new Honda BR-V now wears Honda’s latest corporate design, with the Solid Wing Face chrome front grille taking centre stage, flanked by a pair of LED headlights. Below the LED headlights are a pair of L-shaped fog light surrounds.
Quote:
Moving towards the rear-end of the all-new BR-V, it gets a pair of redesigned LED tail lights with signature lighting that is reminiscent of the Honda City. Completing the looks are rugged bumpers all round, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna.
Quote:
Honda has also refreshed the all-new BR-V’s cabin. The all-new Honda BR-V’s dashboard is largely inspired by the Indian-market Honda Amaze, down to the pair of symmetrical air-cond vents and what looks like a larger touchscreen head unit. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is supported in the all-new BR-V.
Quote:
Powering the all-new Honda BR-V is a new naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre DOHC petrol engine borrowed from the current-generation Honda City, producing 121 PS and 145 Nm. The engine can be had with a CVT-type automatic or a manual transmissio
Quote:
The range-topping variant now adds the Honda Sensing ADAS suite to the mix, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMBS), Auto High Beam (AHB) and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN) - the latter not available on the Honda City or Honda CR-V.
Quote:
The all-new Honda BR-V will also offer a total of six airbags and the LaneWatch camera.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

Finally, the sleeping Jap has woken up (Or just in Indonesia). At least some interesting news from Honda.

Dear Honda, we Indians have a recipe for success. You just need to bring them in action.

- A car which has high ground clearance. This should be mandated by government themselves for the safety of everyone. (Pun intended).

- We need all the door panels to have a solid 'Thud' which German cars make, but we need them on Japanese cars so that they are more reliable.

- We need ADAS level 2, 6 Airbags, All safety features and a GNCAP score of 4 or more.

- We pay highest tax and highest fuel prices , so have some mercy on us and get EV/Hybrid/Diesel powertrains . Our genes have been wired with 'kitna deti he'.

- For SUV pricing, just follow Mahindra or Korean twins and make a copy. I'm sure pricing doesn't have copyright.

And then please tell how the 'Success' tastes with all above ingredients

Lastly, please make it a reality in India, at least by 2022.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

Front three quarters view looks fantastic. Rear three quarters not so much, but the biggest let down are those interiors. The dashboard appears from 2010 era. My 2017 Baleno cockpit looks more modern than this. It is a far cry from Seltos / Creta interiors. Interiors looks like it needs a facelift even before it is on for sale.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

This certainly looks better than the old BRV with respect to overall proportions which i think was one of the reasons that contributed to its downfall. Still i find the rear three-quarter design to be kind of odd.

The interior seems to be directly lifted off the amaze rather than the city which it is based on. They should have given a 5th gen city inspired interior to justify the price bracket in which this is going to be placed.

Re: Honda N7X SUV production model global unveil on 21 September

Dear Honda,
This one looks like a 2015 model already. I am thinking of buying this for my kid when she turns 18. Trusting the Honda approach in India, I am hoping that you will bring this model to us by then with some facelifts. I am sure my daughter will love this car although some of the cars might look futuristic compared to this and probably sport a higher standard of ADAS by then. Awaiting more details on this car just like the N7X, HRV, Honda Hybrids.
- A Honda Customer

P.S- I am searching for a good Playschool for my kid. Please suggest good ones in Trivandrum/Kollam.
