According to a media report, the next-generation Duster SUV will come with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Sold under the Dacia brand in international markets, the new Duster SUV is expected to be unveiled sometime in 2024.



Julien Ferry, the product boss of the Duster, stated that the successor to the SUV will be the 'same' car. Dacia will ensure that the upcoming Duster will continue to offer its customers a very good 'price-to-features' ratio. The Dacia Duster will continue to be aimed towards customers looking for "a simple car that can go off-road".

The upcoming Dacia Duster will make use of the CMF-B architecture, which also underpins the brand's smaller Sandero offering. The new architecture will allow the Duster to adopt a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It allows the car to shift more easily to a fully electric powertrain at a later stage, using the CMF-BEV platform - based on the conventional CMF-B architecture.

Renault actually blew up their opportunity to make sales in the SUV segments, just look at Kia and Hyundai. They are hammering the competitors. I have lost any hope that this will be launched any time soon.

I was eagerly waiting for updated duster to buy it. Even made my mind to buy 1.3 CVT with outdated interiors if they give me a good bargain. Then the prospect of outdated interiors was causing some hesitation as I am planning to keep the car for next 10 years. My present drive is Vento 1.6 TDI and I feel it is either Kicks/Duster that will be a befitting replacement. There is no Nissan dealer at my current location. Daily I tweet at Renault home page enquiring about updated Duster but no response. Now I am seriously thinking of going ahead with Astor if its dynamics are at least 70% of that of Duster. Really can't understand how Renault management strategize their business plan for India

I think there would have been a strong reason why Renault pulled the plug on the Duster.
My guess is that the new gen Duster could have been a bit more expensive to produce, than Renault would have hoped for.

Renault has done rather well, off late, with it's new products like Triber, Kiger etc.

Known internally under the code P1310, the new Dacia Duster will make its revolution in 2024.

The new Dacia Duster 2024 is already on the horizon.
The third generation of the popular Dacia SUV will be a reality. A model that will catch up and present important changes at the mechanical level.
Key information to the engines that will make up the new Duster range and, more importantly, its commitment to electrification.

- The time has come for the Duster to leave behind its outdated base and move to using the CMF-B platform.

- The use of the CMF-B platform opens the door to the electrification of the Duster.

- The third generation will bet everything on gasoline and low- and medium-level electrification.

-The new Duster will focus its mechanical offer on the 1.3-liter TCe gasoline engine of 130 hp.

-There will also be a 1.3 TCe block of 150 hp electrified with 12-volt light hybrid system (MHEV)

-The six-speed manual gearbox will be the main stay, the EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission will remain in the portfolio.

-LPG will still be present, although Dacia will make changes. The bifuel version will be based on the 1.3 TCe engine.

- The 1.5 Blue dCi diesel engine, as we have previously indicated, will no longer be available.

On the other hand, the 1.5 diesel will disappear from the catalog. It will be replaced by a hybrid petrol version. The Romanian SUV will borrow the 1.6 E-Tech 145 hp known under the hood of the Renault (Clio and Captur) and Nissan (Juke) models.

the Dacia Duster 3 will continue to be offered in a 4 x 4 version, but it will abandon its mechanical transmission with reducer for a 100% electric system. The engineers have installed a small electric motor on the rear axle that will operate the wheels to provide additional traction in case of loss of grip or to have all-wheel drive on difficult terrain.

A test mule based on the Renault Captur that allows to ratify the fact that the renovation is underway and will bring with it great novelties.

Dacia has used the Renault Captur as the basis for the creation of the third-generation Duster test mules. And to some extent it is logical that the Captur is used as a base. Must remember that, on a technical level, the third-generation Duster will be a totally new car. It will bear no relation to the current model. It will be supported by the CMF-B platform, hence the Captur is used for the first test mules

This project is known internally with the code P1310. Recently the top leader of Dacia confirmed that the design of the new Duster was 99% finished. It will adopt the company's new design language. A philosophy advanced through the Dacia Bigster Concept. What's more, on an aesthetic level the Duster 3 can be defined as the "little brother" of the future Dacia Bigster, a model that, if everything goes according to plan, will see the light in 2025.

In the engine range of the new Duster there will be no diesel options. Those interested in getting the new generation Romanian SUV will have at their disposal gasoline, bifuel and hybrid engines. In gasoline there will be a 1.3 TCe engine of 130 hp. A step above will be the 1.3 TCe engine of 150 hp with light hybrid technology (MHEV) of 12 volts.

LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) will continue to be present. The new bifuel version adapted to run on gas and gasoline will be based on the aforementioned 1.3 TCe engine. And as a greener alternative, there will be a self-recharging hybrid (HEV) version. What's more, the hybrid version will make it possible for the Dacia Duster to continue betting on 4x4 traction.

The third generation of the Dacia Duster is being prepared by the Romanian manufacturer: it should be unveiled in spring 2024.

is already working on the future generation of its iconic 4×4: it bears the code name "P1310".

Dacia is currently expanding its range, with the arrival of the new Jogger, which replaces the Lodgy, as well as the future Bigster which will offer up to 7 seats on board. This large SUV, prefigured by the eponymous concept car, should share its angular and muscular lines with the future generation of the Duster.

Dacia Duster 3: hybrid engines
Like the Bigster, the Duster 3 will be based on the CMF-B platform that equips the Sandero, extended to offer more space on board. It should retain the 1.3-liter TCe petrol engines of 130 and 150 horsepower, as well as the 1.0-liter LPG version Eco-G of 100 horsepower.

The dCi diesel will no longer be in the game, but new hybrid engines will emerge on Dacia's future SUV: we should find the 1.6-liter E-Tech block, already introduced on the models of the Renault range.

New Dacia Duster to be presented in 2024 April.

The third generation of the Dacia Duster will be larger and more muscular with aesthetic inspiration to the Bigster concept. Clear lines and larger dimensions, with a length that could go up to 445-450 cm. Huge trunk that should allow you to load up to over 550 liters.

The look will be rather muscular, with showy wheel arches and an imposing front mask. For the lights, a headlight is assumed that should be full LED for the first time. We will have huge improvements even inside with a totally digital instrumentation and a respectable ADAS kit.

The third-generation Dacia Duster will be based on the CMF-B platform, specially modified to introduce important changes that will characterize the new model. The peculiarity of this modified platform will be the possibility of accommodating all-wheel drive. So according to the latest information the new Duster will remain on the list also in version 4×4.

The engines that will arrive on the new model will be of the latest generation, with hybrid technology. The diesel Duster will no longer be available for purchase. We will see in the range the 1.0-liter bi-fuel petrol / LPG with about 110 hp. Probably the range will be equipped with 1.2 or 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol, mild hybrid, with powers of 130 and 160 hp. There is also a full-hybrid version probably with a 1.6-liter aspirated as an endothermic base, although we must understand the timing of development of a new generation of hybrid engines at Renault based on a 1.8-liter aspirated. The new Dacia Duster could have a price list starting from 19-20 thousand euros.
