Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

Somehow it was stuck in my mind that the new Celerio is a baby Dzire. Looks like it is a baby new S Cross instead.

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

Suzuki has done major changes in design but its success depends on pricing and engine options. In India, if Maruti offers the same engine then it will be another NEXA fail after Ignis.

I hope Maruti brings the 4WD variant to India and can we please get diesel engine back?

However I'm not expecting much from Indian 2022 S Cross as Maruti disappoints us every time, recent example is the Celerio.

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

I felt the rear has some resemblance to the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander. I find the overall design to be very neutral.

What Maruti tweaks in this to bring it to India is something that will unfold with time.

Looks good. Much, MUCH better than the current model whose existence a lot of people (inluding me) didnt even consider when looking for a new car in this segment.

As unlikely as it is, one can always pray to the gods that this may come to India with AWD...

What a transformation!!
Kudos to the entire team behind it. It will be great to see a 1.5L diesel under it's bonnet in our market atleast as an option.

That's exactly what I felt.
Looks like someone from Suzuki India joined Suzuki Europe.
Is XL 6 a global model??
Well if not it just became one with New Scross eerily resembling the same.

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

Will this S-Cross be launched in India considering that Maruti and Toyota are jointly developing a Compact SUV(Creta Rival). Maybe, S-Cross will be slotted between Vitara Brezza and the new Jointly developed CSUV.

The new S-Cross looks nice and wish it is launched in India in the same price range as the existing S-Cross.

I know for sure this will not happen for sure, but would be nice if they could slap the Fiat's 2.0L diesel and an AT box.

To my eyes, the design seems to be Hondaish from certain angles.

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

Side view of the white s cross shows the tail lights bulging out of proportion. Might be the angle. Current model has healthy rear bumper. Unable to comment until close up view.
Might be launched here as current model is due for a change and gimmick posted by Maruti "who was here" to phasee it out.
Wish it is launched here with ESC, 6 airbags and creature comforts offered by the competition.

Finally a new Suzuki that looks good.. don't the headlamps give off Volvo XC90 vibes? Hopefully it continues to be on the Suzuki C Platform and has a better interior than on the current one.

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

The front grille especially the thick chrome bar looks a bit out of place and doesn't match the rest of the vehicles aesthetic.
I too feel the grille looks like the one on XL6.

It doesn't look bad, but could have been executed better

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

Hope the next-gen scross will be priced well and will come to India soon with a choice of diesel/Petrol/Hybrid combo and we will finally have some competition to the Hyundai & Kia. There will still be some takers for Hyundai and Kia's 3* rated weird looking overpriced cars but hopefully this will lead to some price correction from Hyundai & Kia to retain their volumes. Even the Brezza has a decent 4* rating unlike the Kia/Creta platform that got a 3* rating in GNCAP.

Hoping that Tata and Mahindra can also get their act together and bring their respective right sized 4200-4300 mm long vehicle to compete with Japanese and the koreans. The XUV700 & the Harrier/safari is just too big for the small indian city roads.

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

Front is reminiscent of XL6 to an extent which suits the overall profile of the car. Certainly beats the Vitara in terms of its overall stance. Most likely will be a better car than Vitara for sure as Vitara already looks outdated compared to new gen Scross.

Re: Next-gen Suzuki S-Cross to debut soon; to rival Hyundai Creta

Maruti Suzuki will really need to kick it up a notch in terms of the gizmos in the interiors if it wants to do well with the S-Cross in India.
Most Indian customers just love all the electronics and to compete with the Creta or the Seltos, the S-Cross will need to improve a lot and provide more stuff to play with.

In terms of looks, IMO, it grows on you. When I got the current generation S-Cross, I was neutral (neither liking not hating) about the looks; but now I love it!
But many people still hate it when they look at it for the first time.

The looks of the Next Gen S-Cross are more sedated that the current one and should attract more customers.
It is not extreme like the current one and much more neutral. Well played by the designers!
