I do not know if updated records are available but in a 1998 news clipping, the Guinness Book of Records had named a 1966 Volvo P1800 as the vehicle holding the record for the 'Highest Car Mileage.' The car had over 1.671 million miles and was driven every day by its original owner, Irv Gordon of East Patchogue, New York who purchased the car brand new in 1966. Mr. Gordon attributes its long life to "I treat my car with love -- I maintain and clean it regularly, and I always use Genuine Volvo Parts during servicing."

58 year old Chevy truck keeps soldiering on

Guy bought a 20 year old rust bucket Chevy farm truck for $75 when he was fresh out of college. He continued to drive it to work for 38 years.

Rusted out, body patched with duct tape, keeps soldiering on.

This reminds me of a (sadly rejected) ad for Chevy trucks by legendary pulp novelist Elmore Leonard. "A Chevy never wears out. You just get tired of looking at it and buy a new one"
