I think this will come in as a CBU anywhere from 28 to 32 lakhs depending on kit.

Its quite ridiculous how the prices are so high.

As far as size goes, it it as large as the RAV4?

In most online reviews, Tiguan is rated about as good or only slightly better than CR-V.

Hence, pricing it over 20-22 lacs might not be such a good idea...

There is only a limit to how much premium a German can command over a Japanese...

I think Tiguan is a good off roader than other crossovers.

I had seen one on road here in Pune in black, possibly an imported one. It looks excellent, really classy and elegant. Clean lines and an understated design...It should sell well if it comes inexpensive...but I reckon, it will be priced as much as the passat if not less. They can just put any price and people start buying. Look at X3, how do they even decide the pricing?

VW is a premium brand in India, even Skoda is. The markets are different all over the world.

I think 25-30 lakhs is a realistic price, especially if you were to take the Jetta's pricing as a sort of indicator.

Someone needs to edit the title of this thread - 15 lakhs belongs to the realm of fantasy. This is definitely not the right answer - Failed!

+1 to that. Seeing how they have priced the Jetta & the Passat, fat chance of the Tiguan having a price tag of 15 lakhs. 23 lakhs OTR at the minimum.

Quote:
Volkswagen in Germany has announced that the Tiguan is now available in front-wheel-drive as well. Tiguan's base model Trend & Fun, will offer FWD option to run with its TSI and TDI engine options. A maximum trailer load of 2,000kg is still possible even with this new drive system. The 1.4 TSI petrol engine produces 110kW/ 150hp and meets the strict EU 5 emissions standards, with an average 7.4 litres per 100km of recorded economy on the EU cycle.

On the other side of the spectrum is a 2.0 TDI turbo diesel engine producing 103kW/ 140hp and pulling power measured at 320Nm, and available at a lowly 1,750rpm. The TDI posts an average of 5.9 litres per 100km. That 1.4 TSI Trend & Fun can be financed via Volkswagen Bank at €275 a month from a 20 percent deposit over 36 months.

There is no way that VW is going to price this anything below 25Lakhs.. We all prayed the same 15 Lakh thing for the Pajero...

We can safely assume that only Indian companies can offer SUVs within that price range.
